Today (Nov. 4), we celebrate the birthday of one of Dancehall’s most interesting Artists, Tommy Lee Sparta. Since the early 2010s. Tommy Lee Sparta took over Dancehall with his darkness, and Sparta Badness. A hitmaker and a controversial individual, he is recognized the world over, and continues to influence many. Today we celebrate not only his birthday, but his contributions to the music scene with our latest Playlist titled, “The Guzu Playlist“.

For over 7 1/2 hours, get your ears ready for a collection of some of Tommy Lee Sparta’s most recognized singles, hits, collaborations, and stand out tracks. The Sparta Boss who started out as a member of Vybz Kartel’s Portmore Empire, has come a long way, and has a sizable catalogue that is pretty valuable. A few years ago, we celebrated the late “King Of Pop” Michael Jackson by highlighting some of the popular Jamaican songs that covered his classics. Michael Jackson had and still has a strong musical influence on Jamaica, and tributes are made to him in various ways. Today, we present to you a special Playlist highlighting a few more covers called, “Jamaica Sings Michael Jackson!“.

Consisting of 20 tracks, we have a selection of Artists who all shared a love for Michael Jackson and his music, and they paid tribute to him in their own way. From Sugar Minott, to Vybz Kartel, to Tarrus Riley, to Christopher Martin, to Junior Reid, enjoy these few minutes of great music. Michael Jackson would’ve been 65 today, and many people around the world are celebrating his life and legacy. Long live the King Of Pop!

On February 8, the music world lost one of the most influential persons in Pop Music, the late Burt Bacharach. With his songwriting, production, and various compositions whether solo or done with collaborators, Bacharach has given us some of the greatest songs and sounds, helped to elevate the careers of some of the best Artists including Dionne Warwick, Tom Jones, and Dusty Springfield, and scored Films such as “Casino Royale” (a James Bond Parody), “Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid“, “Arthur“, and “A Boy Called Po“. His work has influenced many, and in our latest Playlist, we cover some of the Jamaican Artists who have covered his songs.

In the “Jamaica Sings Burt Bacharach!” Playlist, we’ve featured 18 tracks that have given hit songs from the late Burt Bacharach a Jamaican touch. From Dennis Brown, to Wayne Wonder, to Diana King, to Dobby Dobson, get yourself familiar or reacquainted with some great music that came to life by Bacharach’s genius. Today, November 30, we celebrate the birthday of a Dancehall legend. Many know of his many aliases including Mavado the Gully Gad, but his parents named him David Constantine Brooks! Mavado celebrates another year of life on Earth, and we celebrate his many works with our newest Playlist in a long while called, “Gully Forever: The Mavado Playlist“!

For over 9 hours, we bring to you some of Mavado’s greatest tracks. From breakout singles, to International collaborations, to even beef tracks, Mavado has done a lot of work for Jamaican music. Mavado has been influential to the culture, and has his place in being a part of one of Dancehall’s greatest beefs with Vybz Kartel, and forming an alliance that has divided Jamaicans for a long time. Salute Mavado wherever he is!

First off, R.I.P. to the LEGENDARY Robbie Shakespeare, 1/2 of the “Riddim Twins” a.k.a. the production duo known as Sly & Robbie. May Robbie’s amazing basslines forever live on! We had plans to release a Playlist paying tribute to the legendary Sly & Robbie next year, but with the sad news that came this week, we had to put something together in the best way we know how. We present to you the “Sampling Sly & Robbie” Playlist!

Sly & Robbie made classics that have spanned generations, and helped to inspire many around the world. Our latest Playlist highlights not only some of the classics, but some of the known tracks that have sampled them. Today (August 22) a Dancehall King celebrates another year of life, and while his family knows him as Moses Davis, the rest of the world knows him as Beenie Man! For over 40 years, he has been moved from child star, to a living legend. He commands stages, saved many events, and deserves to be called “Dancehall’s Greatest Entertainer“. Fittingly, that’s the title of our new Playlist made for Beenie Man!

For nearly 7 hours, you can tune into many songs that helped to build the legacy of Beenie Man.
