Repping USVI, Recording Artist Verse Simmonds has been keeping busy in his career, as well enhancing the careers of others. 2019 however, will find him in his “Rudeboy” element as he plans to flood the street with a lot of music. Today, “Gunstown” is one of the first few entries. Produced by Melvin Hough II and Rivelino Raoul Wouter a.k.a. “Mel and Mus“, Verse lets off a few rounds over some Reggae sampled production and lets listeners know what happens in USVI. Smoke some herbs to this one and let the lyrics paint a picture while the production will find you skanking a lil. Expect more from Verse Simmonds later this year, but in the meanwhile check out the track and share with a friend. Show us some love/follow us on Twitter and Instagram at @13thStreetPromo.

It’s Friday, and it’s that time to roll up some green, and blaze it to some good tunes! DJ Dar wants to assist with the musical selections today with the release of his latest Mixtape, “Roots & Dub Vol. 2“! Giving listeners a dose of audio for that meditation and medication session, Dar pays tribute to US Virgin Islands Reggae Artist, Akae Beka. Throughout the hour long mix he also spins tunes from Jahdan Blakkamoore, Pressure Busspipe, and Lutan Fyah. For those who need a proper hit of consciousness while steaming the herbs, you can’t go wrong with “Roots & Dub”! Be sure to look out for the DJ as he readies a weekly series where he spins nothing but the best tunes, all while throwing in some of his work as the Artist known as “Da Supreme“. Check out the mix below.
Who am I? I’m that…you know the rest. Dropping the remix to their “I’m That…” single is US Virgin Islands duo Rock City. Featuring contributions from Beenie Man and NY Rapper Azealia Banks, a Caribbean connection is made and lines from “Sim Simma” are borrowed. Rock City have been in the music business for a pretty long time and have worked with the likes of Akon, Rihanna, Jennifer Hudson and much more. You can catch them in the studio recording, producing, and writing for some of your favourite acts. Check out the track below and share your thoughts in the comments section.
