December 31st will be a night for the books and more as Dancehall Artist Vybz Kartel will headline his highly-anticipated “Freedom Street” Concert. Since his release from Prison on July 31, fans have been awaiting the day he takes the stage, and deliver his hits for them. The announcement of the Concert came this past August, and updates about the venue, the date, and what to expect have been shared and hinted. Earlier today, the public got a lot more information at the official Press Conference.

Vybz Kartel joined Joe Bogdanovich and “Skatta” Burrell of Downsound Records, and more on stage at Janga’s Sports Bar as valuable updates on “Freedom Street” were shared. For those who were eager to know what the lineup would be like, Kartel shared that his sons Likkle Addi and Likkle Vybz, Skillibeng, and Spice are confirmed to share the stage with him. Busta Rhymes, longtime friend and collaborator would make an appearance at the event, and possible appearances by Drake, Popcaan, and fellow Portmore Empire members were mentioned. Updates for more lineup additions would be shared in the coming weeks on Social Media. For those wondering what the “World Boss” would do in terms of performing, he shared that the show would be split into different eras, and songs from his “Black Kartel” days, the “War Angel” era, the “World Boss” times, and his incarcerated time would be performed. As a bonus for Concert goers, Downsound Records will have a “Black Friday” sale on November 29 and 30 that will slash 50% off tickets for those who missed out on the early bird specials.

In addition to the Concert, Vybz Kartel also officially launched his “Str8 Vybz Rum” line. With three variations offered, Vybz will bring fans back to the days of “Street Vybz Rum“, and introduce a new audience to his entrepreneurial side. The Rum is already on shelves at select locations, and he plans to bring it to even more parts of the world in the coming months.

The world is ready for Vybz Kartel, and “Freedom Street” is just the beginning.

Sizzla’s “Just One Of Those Days” Featured In @Netflix’s “Starting 5”


Recently, video streaming platform Netflix released the new series, “Starting 5“. The series follows the lives of 5 NBA superstars, namely Lebron James, Anthony Edwards, Jimmy Butler, Jayson Tatum, and Domantas Sabonis, during the 2023-2024 NBA season. The series features a number of popular songs, but a very familiar one that originated in Jamaica made an appearance.

During episode 5 of “Starting 5”, named “The Struggle Is Real“, “Just One Of Those Days” a.k.a. “Dry Cry” by Sizzla Kalonji was played. The song was released in 2002, and was produced by “Bobby Digital” Dixon. It has been sampled a number of times over the years, and remains of his biggest crossover hits. The song was played during a segment about the Boston Celtics, and its star player Jayson Tatum. “Starting 5” became one of Netflix’s most anticipated shows in recent months, and has secured viewership in the Millions. “Starting 5” is still playing on Netflix.

Elephant Man Brings The Energy For Sold-Out Show In Boston


Widely regarded as one of the greatest Dancehall Entertainers, Elephant Man is known to bring the energy wherever his stage may be. Known as the “Energy God”, the Deejay has been a dominating force for decades, and slowing down won’t be a thing anytime soon. Recently, the Deejay took the energy to the United States as a part of the Reggae Fest event series.

Performing at the Citizens House Of Blues in Boston, Massachusetts on August 24, Elephant Man took over the venue like the true Dancehall veteran he is. Those in attendance of the sold-out event were in for a treat as Ele performed hit after hit out of his extensive catalogue, and in return they celebrated a Deejay who has been a hitmaker since the late 1990s. Elephant Man has been one of the go-to Dancehall acts to include in Festivals, and he continues to give it his all to those in attendance in song, dance, and energy. Reggae Fest is a party series founded by Epic League Entertainment in 2015, and has been one of the more anticipated events in various cities over the years.

Fans of Elephant Man who missed out on the Boston show, can see him live on August 31 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York as a part of Reggae Fest’s Labor Day Weekend festivities. The Deejay is currently promoting the singles, “Work Out”, “Bad Gyal”, “Dancing School”, and “Forever Dance”, which have been receiving positive feedback since their release throughout the summer.

After well over a decade, Dancehall Artist Vybz Kartel along with three of his co-accused Shawn Storm, Kahira Jones, and Andre St. John are now free Men. Vybz Kartel has been incarcerated since 2011, and was given the official sentencing in 2014, and since then there have been attempts for an appeal which was made successful earlier this year through the Privy Council. M3gga MAC Previews Upcoming “Yaad Man” Mobile Game


Where are all the Gamers? We have some news for those who are. Over the years there have been a number of Software Developers who have made some moves in the Gaming Industry, some with success, others are still putting in the work. In recent times there have been demands a Jamaican Video Game to have a presence on major Gaming Consoles, but the journey is a rigorous one. Luckily, the Mobile Gaming scene has gotten some contributions, and Youtuber/Software Developer M3gga MAC wants to be a part of it with his upcoming, “Yaad ManMobile Game.

Currently in the development stages, M3gga MAC’s “Yaad Man” game looks to be an open world game that embodies Jamaican culture and Geography with an original storyline. MAC recently took to Youtube to give viewers an idea of what’s to come, sharing the highs, the lows, and the possibility of making a House “skate pon di Toll“. We get a look at early character development and various assets in the game, with some funny commentary throughout. He has since shared his preview on TikTok which has garnered some attention, and he looks to fully complete the game before the end of the year. As with Video Games, developments can take years, but if he has the right guidance, anything is possible. “Yaad Man” looks to gain anticipation similar to “Street Boy“, another Jamaican Video Game in development, and we look forward to their actual release. Dancehall Artist Vybz Kartel along with three of his co-accused will have to fight a little harder as it has been announced that their bail has been denied. Vybz Kartel has been incarcerated since 2011, and was given the official sentencing in 2014, and since then there have been attempts for an appeal which was made successful earlier this year through the Privy Council. Given the circumstances, many are very eager to see their favourite Artist back in the streets, and back around those who love him, but they just have to wait a little longer. With that said, here are some reactions below. Retrial is set for June 10.
