Titled “Liberal Opposer” and directed by Jason Lannaman for Arawak Studios, Kabaka drops conscious lyrics about fighting for what is right, tracing his lineage to Ethiopia, and living right in every way. Here he shared his thoughts on the T.I./Floyd Mayweather fight and cheating, Vybz Kartel’s current situation, Kingston, overseas acts recording in Jamaica, working with female artists, staying current after all these years, being a “Gallis“, his new EP “The Greatest Gallis“, avoiding beefs and his current tour. Recently Deejay Shabba Ranks made a visit to Jamaica but during his short stay he managed to do what he hasn’t done locally in decades…record music. Traveling with a mob in Half Way Tree, Winford Williams managed to catch Shabba to speak on a few things. Here Shabba spoke about being in Jamaica to celebrate Mother’s Day, recording in Jamaica for the first time in many years, visiting his old communities, his views on Dancehall recently including the conviction of Vybz Kartel, family life, and possibilities of performing in Jamaica again. Today’s new video features comedian Andrew Trabass, the regular Trabass TV cast, and Dancehall artist Spice. Titled “Gal Clown“, Spice plays Andrew’s girlfriend who went out with a friend. With this in mind Trabass’ friends Sanka and Famous caught wind of this and alerted Andrew and together they set out to catch her in the act. The ending for this is pretty hilarious as we get to see who really wears the pants in this relationship. big up to Spice for being a part of this. Yesterday on Hot 97, Reggae artist Chronixx was featured on their Morning Show with Cipha Sounds and Old Man Ebro. Here Chronixx spoke about his style of music, artists he grew up listening to and drawing inspiration from, Reggae’s contribution to Hip Hop, his album “Dread & Terrible“, his upcoming performances, explained the meaning of some of his songs and much more. I like how Chronixx handles his interviews. A very knowledgeable artist and you can tell how Cipher and Ebro are impressed. “Celine Dion is the biggest artist in Jamaica“.
