DJs Cardo & Ruxie Get Name Buzzing In The Caribbean


DJ Cardo and DJ Ruxie of CD Fantasy have been receiving several requests in Jamaica and the wider Caribbean. The DJs who recently travelled to Saint Martin said they found their trip ‘eye opening’ and ‘encouraging’. DJ Cardo said, “While in Saint Martin I’ve realized the great impact that Jamaican music has on the Caribbean. We are truly a blessed Country.”

Both DJs hail from Kingston, Jamaica and form a part of CD Fantasy lead by Crazy Bling and consisting of DJ Sprat, DJ Kongry and Mario. DJ Cardo and DJ Ruxie are resident DJs for events such as ‘Big Daddy Mondays’ in Tower Hill, ‘Side Chick Tuesdays’ on Pilly Blacks Plaza, Olympic Way and host their own event ‘Magnum Wednesdays’ on Payne Avenue.

With the recent publicity received as a result of the Saint Martin visit, Cardo and Ruxie are now eager to promote themselves to more Caribbean countries. Ruxie said, “Once you start to go outside of Jamaica, you realize just how important it is to be an Ambassador for Dancehall and as street DJs we realize that our task is not just to entertain, but also to educate.” Both Cardo and Ruxie are now on the promotional trail and will be making appearances at several events in Jamaica and soon in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom. Ugandan Recording Artist @MCNormanGanja Releases “Special Request (No Lies)”


Ugandan Reggae/Dancehall Artist MC Norman recently released his brand new single, “Special Request (No Lies)”. Produced by Kron Productions, the Artist questions his role in a relationship and requests that his love interest tells the truth as they’ve had some rough episodes. The multi award winning Artist has been making his rounds in United States and has been receiving some favourable buzz thanks to his single “Ndiyabuza” which has appeared on the soundtracks to popular US Television Shows such as, “What My Husband Doesn’t Know”, “American Gangster”, and “The Game”. MC Norman was also a 7 time nominee in the International Music Awards recently held in the United States, and was nominated for “Best African Dancehall Artist” in the 2016 Afrimma Awards.

About The Artist

Born to Senior Eddy Ganja, a Ugandan music legend, Soloist and Vocalist with the Afrigo Band, MC Norman started off his music career in 1987 at the age of 12 by working with the Afrigo band which included Joanita Kawalya and Peterson Mutebi. Before he left Uganda, he was one of the top local MCs who had stints with the then high end Clubs like Missouri in Maganjo, Pulsations in Kabalagala, and many others. He later joined MM Disco Sound, and worked with Artists such as the late Ivan Matama, DJ Lubba Style, and Rhino Kalemba before joining Jose Chameleon and DJ Bernazor as Dancers and MCs for the Missouri Club every Wednesday and Friday.

MC Norman became a widely acknowledged MC after working with Sam Amooti and Paddy at Jaaja Ansinansi, and later working at Vibration Disco Club alongside Junior Plies Compious, DJ Roberto, DJ Henry and Lota. He later joined his brother and former “Bakayimbira Dramactors” Actor Philip Ganja in South Africa in 1998. Together they started “Ganja Music Productions”, a Music and Film Production company to help develop talented individuals. The two brothers have worked with some of the top South African Kwaito Artists including Arthur Mafokate, the late Zombo, Purity, and Penny Penny, the Shangani Music Star. Their Film Company was responsible for Productions like “Welcome To South Africa” which sold up to 2 Million copies in Uganda, and 5000 copies in South Africa on the day of its release. They also produced “Buladina”, a tribute Film about the life of fallen star, Paul Kafero.

@DiGovanah Blazes On Summer European Tour!


Recording Artist Di Govanah aka The New Garvey is currently on his third Summer Tour in Europe. He has been booked for some major shows and is performing alongside the Gully Echo Band from Switzerland. The Artist is now doing rounds in places like Portugal, Germany, Spain, Italy and Austria.

Di Govanah says this tour is very important as it has given him the opportunity to expose his music to different markets. “I am expanding on my music and my mission. I have always gotten huge support from the European Market and a tour of this magnitude means that I will be introducing my music to a whole set of new fans.” During the tour, the upcoming Artist has met up with several Producers in Germany to work on his debut Dancehall album. So far he has been an instant hit at the various locations that he has performed and looks forward to embarking on a similar journey later this year.

Di Govanah performed songs such as My Island from The New Garvey EP, and A Nuh Fi Everybody. Fans of the Dancehall Artist are in for a treat as he will be shooting two new videos that will be ready to hit the market later this year. Pass The Herb and Feel Right are his choices for visuals and will start work on them as soon as he returns to the Island. Di Govanah plans on taking the business by storm by supplying the demand for good, wholesome music. “I prefer to put out music that has a shelf life, music that will last for generations to come. I have a lot of new projects in the pipeline, so just look out for the name, “Di Govanah”.”

@NikoChromatic Reveals Battling Kidney Disease, Seeks Assistance For Surgery


If you’re a fan of the “Big Bad SoundChromatic, then you definitely know about Niko a.k.a. Nikomatic a.k.a. NikoChromatic. A founding member of the DJ Collective, he was missing out of the limelight for quite some time. While many speculated a possible rift with the other members, Creep, another founding member, assured fans that he’s still a part of the team. Today, the real reason Niko has been missing from the Collective’s various gigs, and Mixtape releases was the fact that he has been battling Kidney Disease. While the news has sent shock waves across Social Media, Niko stated that his battle can be a short one through the help of surgery and revealing it to the public wasn’t an easy feat. The team recently started a GoFundMe account to seek additional aid for the ailing DJ/MC. @DMedzMusic Lauded For Positive Lyrics, Continues To Empower Youth


Recording Artist D-Medz has yet again released the visuals for a new positive Reggae jam. The Artist who is known for singles geared at youth empowerment has been getting great reviews with the new video and single ‘Nuh Falla (Bad Company)’ on the ‘Real Rock Riddim’. The video was shot in May Pen, Clarendon where the Artist resides, and Porus, Manchester.

D-Medz who is signed to EppJam Production has been creating a buzz in Reggae for quite some time. He received great reviews after his performance at Rebel Salute earlier this year and again at Reggae Sumfest in Catherine Hall, Montego Bay. The Artist, known for singles such as ‘Champion’ that was used as a theme song on the youth empowerment programme ‘Talk Up Yout’, ‘No Vote’ and ‘Rebel Souljah’ from his Empower EP, has kept within this belief in encouraging youths through music.

The ‘Champion’ Artist was met with open arms and words of encouragement by the Hon. Olivia ‘Babsy’ Grange, Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sports, and the Most Honourable Andrew Holness, Prime Minister of Jamaica back stage at Reggae Sumfest after his big performance. He said “My music is about positivity and I encourage other Artists to strive to release music with similar content”.
