.@VanessaBlingVB Brings The Girls Together For New “Truly Gifted Riddim”

Dancehall Artist Vanessa Bling had the Jamaican music scene in a chokehold with her singles over the years. While she may not be as prominent locally as before, she is doing damage overseas thanks her live performances. She aims to flood the streets with new music, but before that, she wants to make statements. Recently, she made the big step with the release of the “Truly Gifted Riddim“.

Released through Vanessa Bling’s VB Records, the “Truly Gifted Riddim” boasts an All-Female lineup for a compilation that will have the people talking. Bling dives into the world of Music Production, and calls on Tifa, Pamputtae, D’Angel, Marcy Chin, and Suspense to join her in the new takeover. The ladies brought their A-game on the new Riddim, and they show a unity that’s not always present in the Dancehall scene. With a new Riddim comes promotion, and Bling and company plan to take it on the road with a series of live performances, with dates and locations to be shared in the future. The “Truly Gifted Riddim” looks to take its place as an important production like “Gal Click Riddim“, which was produced by Spice and released in 2013. Let’s see what 2025 has in store for more Female-lead productions.

Charly Black Promoted Unity With Star-Studded “One Chance” Festival In Manchester

On Saturday December 14, the Parish of Manchester was treated to a night of great performances thanks to the first staging of the “One ChanceMusic Festival. Hosted by Dancehall Artist Charly Black, DJ Marvin, and Unstoppable Entertainment and held at the parking lot of Toast Restaurant & Gelato, the “One Chance” Music Festival was made to promote unity in Jamaican music and society, bring together a number of established and rising stars, and bring more specialized entertainment events in Manchester. Despite the late start for performances, patrons were treated to the selections from the likes of Bass Odyssey, DJ Sherlock, and ZJ Liquid, and those who needed something extra could grab a soup, boxed food, and a beverage of their choice nearby.

When it was time for the performances, the early segment gave way to a number of Mandeville-based Reggae/Dancehall Artists on the rise who displayed some of their best work. It was then followed by performances by the Tower Band who provided musical backing for Charly Black, who soon after brought on stage Yaksta, Yaadcore, Neeqah, Denyque, and X-Kappe, who brought along a number of his Artists. The first staging of the “One Chance” Music Festival showed that Music Festival deserves to be held in the Parish, and we look forward to a bigger, better event in 2025.

For those who were unable to attend the Music Festival, we have some highlights for you to check out. Check out the video below, and share with a friend. Show us some love/follow us on Twitter, TikTok, Threads, and Instagram at @13thStreetPromo.

OLDIES SUNDAY (Christmas) Yole Derose – Tonton Nwèl Cheri (1989)

Bonjou, hope all is well with you all, and the holiday spirit is active. We have another Christmas selection for you for “Oldies Sunday“. For today’s selection, we head over to Haiti to check out Yole Derose’sTonton Nwèl Cheri (Dear Santa Claus)“.

Produced by Ansy Derose and released through Les Producteurs Artistiques in 1989, Yole Derose shares a special message to jolly ol’ St. Nick in “Tonton Nwèl Cheri”. Awaiting his arrival with much eagerness, the Derose takes the role of a child who wishes for gifts on Christmas as her parents are poor and unable to provide them. She makes a request for a doll, but later adds on more items to her list. She also shares of the misfortunes in her household as her parents are unemployed and unable to afford basic necessities, her brother is sick, but pleads that if Santa cannot give toys, at least send something that’s of major importance to the household. The song sheds light on some of the realities that people are facing during the holidays, as it’s not always cheerful singing and gift giving. “Tonton Nwèl Cheri” became a popular Christmas song in Haiti, and was featured on the album, “Quand Mon Cœur Bat La Mesure“, which was released in 1989. Over the years, it has received a number of cover versions, and remains a well-remembered Christmas song in Haiti, and other parts of the world.

STAY TUNED FOR ANOTHER CHRISTMAS CLASSIC ON “OLDIES SUNDAY”!

Nordia Mothersille x Chronic Law "when I'm Gone" on 13thStreetPromotions.com #Jamaica #Dancehall #PopMusic #RandBMusic #Reggae #13thStreetPromotions #NordiaMothersille #NotniceRecords #Notnice #ChronicLaw #WhenImGone #MusicVideo #Video #youtube #Caribbean

Nordia Mothersille Shares Visual For Chronic Law-Featured, “When I’m Gone”

Last month, Recording Artist Nordia Mothersille and Producer Notnice released the EP, “Broken Child“. Mothersille’s debut project quickly gained positive feedback from listeners for its outside the box approach in sound and song composition, and is enjoying great play on streaming platforms and Social Media. New content has been in the works for the project, and earlier, Mothersille premiered the visual for the track, “When I’m Gone“.

Directed by Shane Creative, Chronic Law, the EP’s sole guest feature, shares the screen with Nordia Mothersille in “When I’m Gone”. The visual gives the feel of 2000s Rock music videos with a little bit of 40s Gangster Film influence in parts, and the Artists deliver as usual on their collaboration. “When I’m Gone” is a favourite for many, and it was only right to give it a visual treatment. Mothersille has been busy promoting “Broken Child” with Notnice over the past few weeks, and they may have something special in store for the end of the month, or early 2025. At this point, I believe Mothersille, Chronic Law, Ai Milly, Tommy Lee Sparta, and possibly Stalk Ashley and Jada Kingdom should come together for a Rock-tinged project. If it happens, I need my credits and points on BMI. “Broken Child” is out now on all streaming platforms.
