.@SPriMusic Delivers The Visual For “Back At It”

UK-based Dancehall Artist S Pri returned to the scene recently with the release of the single, “Back At It“. Since then, he has been gaining positive feedback, and he even shared on Instagram what getting back to the music meant to him. His renewed energy for the music has him ready to deliver even more in the coming months, with “Back At It” being at the helm. Earlier, he followed up with the official Music Video.

Directed by Igor Tafelski, S Pri takes it to the Studio in the video for the Alystr Nash-produced “Back At It”. Being around the music and the Women are important to his creativity, and they show up well throughout. The flashy visual will be well-received, and is just a taste of what S Pri has in store. The Deejay looks forward to performing “Back At It”, reintroduce himself to those who have been tuning to him since his days as “Jami Dread“, and continue to uphold the standard as a student of Dancehall Music.

.@SPriMusic Makes His Return With “Back At It” Single

Austrian-born/UK-based Dancehall Artist S Pri continues to be a student of the music. For years he has stayed true to artform, releasing music that caters to all demographics, and done in styles that salute those who were before him. He took a brief hiatus to focus on family and things outside of the Studio, but he always popped up to share that he’s working on something new. He makes his return with the new single, “Back At It“.

Produced by longtime collaborator Alystr Nash, S Pri gets back to business in, “Back At It”. The Deejay delivers something for the people to rock to, as he gets back into the mix of getting to the money, reconnecting with his peers, and calling over the ladies to make his return even more special. S Pri previewed “Back At It” last year as a freestyle which received positive feedback, now released it into an official single, and is finalizing a Music Video. No matter what’s going on in the world, a time for music is always a good one. From Austria to the UK to Jamaica, turn this new tune up!

OLDIES SUNDAY: Carl Douglas – Kung Fu Fighting (1974)

Today’s Oldies Sunday Selection comes from Jamaican Recording Artist, Carl Douglas. Titled “Kung Fu Fighting (Buy It Here)“, this was produced by Biddu for PYE Records in 1974. At that time, Martial Art films (termed “Chopsocky“) were increasing in popularity worldwide (especially in Jamaica), and at a time during the rise of Disco music, Carl created it as a tribute.

Kung Fu Fighting” didn’t start off as a hot single, and received no airplay five weeks since its release. After that it started gaining popularity in dance clubs and helped to make its entry into the UK Singles Chart at #42. After a while it rose to the top of the charts and stayed there for 3 weeks while it made its way to the US Billboard Hot 100 where it made it to #1. “Kung Fu Fighting” also went #1 in other countries including France, Austria, South Africa, Germany, and many more. It has been placed at #100 of VH1’s “100 Greatest One-Hit Wonders”, #1 in Channel 4’s “50 Greatest One-Hit Wonders” and was a part of a great moment in Pop Culture. In 1974 it was certified Gold, received a Grammy for “Best Selling Single“, played a role in the popularity of Disco music, and became one of the best selling singles of all time selling over 11 Million records worldwide.
