OLDIES SUNDAY: @IAmPapaSan – I Will Survive (1989)

Today’s Oldies Sunday selection comes from Papa San who was once hailed as one of the best deejays in Jamaica. This 1989 song “I Will Survive” which borrowed the chorus from Gloria Gaynor’s classic of the same name, chronicles Papa San’s life from age 1 to age 5. He deejays about being groomed by his mom, watching his father work to provide for the family, being punished, and experiencing new things.

Came across a new talent last week, a young Comedienne by the name of Toni Blair. Hailing from Kingston, she comes with an arsenal of videos aimed to have you laughing your butt off and hitting the replay button. The featured video from the “Crack Fairy” as she calls herself is called “Stuff Jamaican Christians Say”. If there are any Christian viewers here this is not an attempt to be disrespectful but merely displaying how Jamaican Christians act.
