Dropping bars are The Rush, K John, Five Steez, Kabaka Pyramid and The Sickest Drama and they all did the beat provided justice. Jamaican Hip Hop has been rising over the past few years and with the help of events like Pay Attention, they get a chance to be heard by a large audience. PAAs a teaser for the upcoming PayAttention show on Saturday November 30 at Club Indulge in Kingston, the acts slated to perform made a cypher session. Over Drake’s “Pound Cake” instrumental, Miguel James, Rseenal, Illicit King, and France Nooks all traded some of their many bars they have in their arsenal. Definitely worth many replays, they spit lyrics. Do support the event as we have many talented individuals that have been given the platform to show and prove. NEW VIDEO: @PayAttentionJA Rap Cypher (Part 1)

Pay attention! It’s that time again where some of Jamaica’s best Yardcore artists grace the stage and display their talent to the masses in a concert series called “Pay Attention“. Held on Saturday June 8 at Club Indulge in Kingston, and featuring acts such as Acmatic, Sly Rankin and others. As a teaser to the show, Pay Attention released a Rap Cypher video featuring Five Steez, Nomad Carlos, Memoirs, Tripple, The Sickest Drama, Gully Cash, and Avalanche. Very dope mix of flows and lyrics, a great showcase of what Jamaicans can do once given the opportunity.  Foreign acts pay attention and read this article on making a link up here. NEW VIDEO: @MarcusBird Presents: A Look At YardCore (Jamaican Hip Hop)

Today’s entry comes from Filmmaker Marcus Bird as looks into the life of Jamaican Hip Hop a.k.a. “YardCore“. Recording footage from the Yardcore Cypher event that was held on sunday January 13 in Kingston Jamaica, Bird highlights some of the best in the business dropping lyrics bombs. Artists included Five Steez, TSD, Nomad Carlos and TMO. For those who missed out on the event this video highlights some of the energy that was given there.
