Chronic Law Closes Out @Audiomack’s “Bless The Yaad” Series In A Big Way!

Digital Music Streaming platform Audiomack has been blazing it up with their “Bless The Yaad” series since they launched it in September 2021. They have gained quite the following thanks to performances from some of Dancehall’s brightest names, leaving unforgettable impressions on their fans. For their 16th and final episode, the “Law Boss” Chronic Law closes out the series in style.

Born Akeeme Campbell, and hailing from Yallahs, St. Thomas, Chronic Law has elevated himself to becoming one of the leading voices in the newer generation of Dancehall Artists. While he has been on the grind for a number of years, it wasn’t until singles like “Hillside”, “Government”, “Hilltop Badness”, “Bless Me”, “Nuh Trust Nobody”, and “Watch Man” that he soon became the talk of the town, and a name to know in various parts of the world. When he speaks, the people listen, and with a TGUT Riddim, Chronic Law advances with the lyrics effortlessly like a General in a heated battle. If you haven’t been familiar with him, now is the time to get your mind, headphones, and speakers in tune with the “Law Boss”! Fully 6ix, fully dark!

“Bless The Yaad” is the Caribbean version to the popular Audiomack series, “Bless The Booth”. The series is executive produced by Tanya Lawson, with audio by TGUT and Flaire, and video by Sage English. The series premieres every Wednesday with a new featured Artist, and is filmed at the Reggae Legends Villa in Kingston, Jamaica.

It’s been a long time coming, but Dancehall/Reggae Artist Bling Dawg is finally taking his career to the next level. Breaking out in the early 2000s armed with a aggressive raspy flow and a commanding presence, Bling Dawg had everyone saying, “If anuh me a who” and “A Ricky Rudie! A.k.a. Bling Dawg!“. Steely & Clevie & Shabba Ranks Get Sampled On New @TaiAyshaMami X @Saweetie Single!

Ting-A-Ling-A-Ling, a new song is in, sampling some sounds from a 90s Dancehall Riddim! Model/Recording Artist Tai’Aysha made her debut today with the single, “One Night Ting“. The single features an appearance by Saweetie, and was co-produced by the legendary Stephen “Di Genius” McGregor! While there is high hopes that this will be a hit for Tai’Aysha, we’re here for the sample! Dancehall heads would immediately pick out a similar sound, namely Shabba Ranks’ 1992 classic, “Ting-A-Ling“. “Ting-A-Ling” would come from a classic Riddim called, the “Gi-Gi Riddim“.

The “Gi-Gi Riddim” was produced by the legendary Production duo of Steely & Clevie a.k.a. Wycliffe Johnson and Cleveland Browne, helped to birth the classic Shabba Ranks single, “Ting-A-Ling”. “Ting-A-Ling” was featured on Shabba’s 1992 “X-tra Naked” Album. “X-Tra Naked” won a GRAMMY for Best Reggae Album in 1993, and was certified Gold. Tai’Aysha and Saweetie’s “One Night Ting” isn’t the first time “Ting-A-Ling” got sampled, and everyone from Patra, Wale, Vybz Kartel, to Nicki Minaj all sampled “Ting-A-Ling” and the “Gi-Gi Riddim”.

Ricky Rudie - Bling Dawg for 13thStreetPromotions.com #Jamaica #BlingDawg #Music #Dancehall #13thStreetPromotions #Caribbean #Elev8TheAlbum

OLDIES SUNDAY: @Bawse_Dawg – Bling Dawg (2000)

On Oldies Sunday, we highlight some of the greats, and many underdogs in Caribbean music. For today’s selection, we highlight one of the underrated Deejays in Dancehall. He goes by the name Ricky Rudie, a.k.a. Bling Dawg with the track titled, “Bling Dawg”.

Produced by Patrick Roberts on the “Scarface Riddim“, “Bling Dawg” was released through the Shocking Vibes Label in 2000. This track was presented as an introduction to the Artist then known as Ricky Rudie. Bling Dawg would showcase a great flow, witty lyrics which included the line, “If yuh nuh like Bling Dawg, gwaan go suck an egg…“, and a catchy hook. “Bling Dawg” became an instant hit for the Deejay, and found itself on a few music charts in Jamaica, and in parts of the Caribbean and the rest of the world. The music video for the single (directed by “Big Daddy Leo” O’Reggio) quickly brought Bling Dawg to more people as the video would feature a few familiar faces including Bounty Killa, who would make him a member of the Dancehall collective, The Alliance.

Bling Dawg went on to release more music over the years, adopting more to the “Bling Dawg” moniker. He would have a few more hits, popularize a few dances (Zip It Up, Kreech, Aji Bounce), got caught up in a musical beef, transitioned to more conscious music, and became a Fitness Guru in the process. He is currently gearing up for the release of his long awaited album, “Elev8” in February. Boom blast!

If Anuh Me A Who? A Ricky Rudie! A.k.a. BLING DAWG!
