Today (August 22) a Dancehall King celebrates another year of life, and while his family knows him as Moses Davis, the rest of the world knows him as Beenie Man! For over 40 years, he has been moved from child star, to a living legend. He commands stages, saved many events, and deserves to be called “Dancehall’s Greatest Entertainer“. Fittingly, that’s the title of our new Playlist made for Beenie Man!

For nearly 7 hours, you can tune into many songs that helped to build the legacy of Beenie Man. Whether you want to hear the “10 Year Old DJ Wonder“, 90s Beenie, his International collaborations, or the “King Of The Dancehall“, you will get more than your fill of hits from the man. Triszy & Jayy Lav Give “Pretty N Clean” A Visual With Munga Honorable!

Back in June, we highlighted Dominican raised/Brooklyn based Artist Triszy and Brooklyn based Artist Jayy Lav’s single, “Pretty N Clean“ featuring Dancehall Artist Munga Honorable. The single has been doing well since its release, and there were plans in motion for a music video. Today, we get to show you that music video.

Directed by Yaad Boiiz Productions and shot in Jamaica and New York, Triszy and Munga get acquainted with some ladies on the Island, while Jayy Lav hangs with the crew, flash a lil money, and have fun with some girls. The song still brings that early summer vibe, and the video helps to amplify it a little more. “Pretty N Clean” has been getting some love worldwide, and we know the follow up singles will be bangers for sure. Jamaican Dancehall Artist 450 releases new single "Journey" on 13thStreetPromotions.com #Jamaica #Caribbean

450’s Career Continues To Trend With “Journey”.

Having enjoyed his name being in the spotlight for weeks thanks to his hit single, “Imperfection”, Dancehall Artist 450 is aiming for a longer stay. Since the release of the single on June 7, 450 has been receiving co-signs from many of the major players in the Jamaican music scene. He has also gained a consistent endorsement from many on Social Media, and has been enjoying heavy rotation on some of the best musical platforms worldwide. With the growing success, 450’s new single “Journey” is onboard to further solidify his presence on the music scene.

Produced by DWH Records, “Journey” is a dedication to the haters as 450 speaks about the progress he’s making in his life on “Journey”, while having to deal with people who don’t mean him well. The song comes at a time where he starts to see a lot more success in his career, in addition to experiencing the challenges that may come with that success. Regardless of his experiences, he knows he deserves to be where he is, and he vows not to change who he is, protect his energy from those who wish to steal it, and put in the necessary work to continue staying successful. The single was released on August 6, and has been trending ever since with a #6 placement on Youtube with over 200,000 views, a “Top Songs” feature on streaming platform Audiomack, and a #3 placement on Apple Music’s “Top 25” chart for Kingston, Jamaica, a placement that is also shared with his “Imperfection” single which holds the #2 spot. The single has enjoyed thousands of streams on other platforms, and has been heavily shared by fans on the Instagram platform through posts in their feeds, and in their “Stories”. 450 is very grateful for the love he has been receiving for “Journey”, and has hinted that he has more music for the people on the way. Plans for an official music video for “Journey” is currently in development.

OLDIES SUNDAY: Peter Metro – Police In A Jamaica (1985)

If it’s one thing that Jamaican Artists will speak out against in their music apart from the Government, is the Police force. In 2021, it’s still a popular subject as there are many members of the force who overstep their boundaries, and are at times a part of the corruption. Today’s Oldies Sunday selection comes from Peter Metro with his single, “Police In A Jamaica“.

Produced by Hyman Wright and Percy Chin for the Jah Life Time Label on the “Answer Riddim” in 1985, Peter Metro recalls an encounter with the Police on an outing with fellow Deejay Nicodemus. Their adventure begins when the Artists were traveling from Old Harbour in a rental while Nicodemus was smoking Marijuana. The interactions that followed are similar to what many face to this day. While the Jamaica Constabulary Force may show off feel good videos on Social Media today, it doesn’t put a wool over the eyes of those who experience daily harassment and injustice from members of the force. “Police In A Jamaica” was a hit for Peter Metro, and it birthed a follow up titled “Police In England” in 1986. Dancehall Artist Khxos drops new single, "Runaway" on 13thStreetPromotions.com

With plenty years in music, it’s safe to say Khxos is a veteran. With a catalogue that includes music for the ladies, music with a message, and the occasional exhibition of lyricism, Khxos has steadily gained a following over the years (He was featured as an Artist to watch in 2017). Since being signed to Delicious Vinyl Island, he has been releasing various tracks, and now he gears up for his sophomore album, “Complicated“. He gets things rolling with the new single, “Runaway“.

Produced by Kheilstone, the Afrobeats inspired “Runaway” finds Khxos needing an escape from a bad situation. While many go through their share of problematic relationships, friendships, and things of that nature, Khxos wants to leave it all behind, and start something new. Khxos looks to keep the momentum going up until the release of his album through Delicious Vinyl Island possibly before the end of 2021.

Kiprich Tells Badmind To “Stay Far” On New Single

Dancehall Artist Kiprich has staying power, and it has been evident in his over 20 year career. When the public thinks he’s down and out, he emerges with a hit single to solidify that greatness has been within him. Whether he provides comic relief, promotes that he’s a formidable contender when it comes to lyricism, or motivates listeners on a track, Kippo has always ensured he has his tools ready to create. His new single “Stay Far” proves that he’ll have many more hits in the new decade.

Produced in collaboration with So Focus Ent., “Stay Far” finds Kiprich making it very clear that badmind is one of the many things that will not stand of his way as he has many goals to accomplish, and he wants to enjoy his life to the fullest. Detractors may come, and challenges may present themselves, but Kiprich is adamant that he will be successful even when the odds are against him. Over a Piano backed production, Kiprich gets into some of his signature singing to cast away anything that promotes negativity in his life, and does a great job at it. 

“Stay Far” was released in June 2021, and it has fans clamouring for more from the Artist as his Social Media reach grew exponentially thanks to posts on the Instagram and Tiktok platforms. It was followed by a Shervel Thesheep directed music video in late June, and has gained close to 115,000 views on Youtube. Kiprich is grateful for the love he has been receiving so far for “Stay Far”, and looks to follow it up with more music in the coming months.
