The World Needs Love, And @GardyGirault & @JPerryOfficial Seek To “Gaye Lòv La”

The world is in need of love, real love. Haiti needs a lot of love, and a lot more from some good hearts. The Island hasn’t always been in the media for good news, and that needs to change, and uplift the nation. Haitian Electronic Music/Rara Tech DJ Gardy Girault is on a mission to get the world to love again, and he shares a message with the track, “Gaye Lòv La (Spread Love)“.

The self-produced “Gaye Lòv La” was released through Rizing Muzik and features Haitian Recording Artist J. Perry. On the track, we get the message From Gardy Girault and Perry on the importance of spreading love, and the world is in need of it. People have been experiencing hatred, going through traumatic events, losing hope, and losing love, and the track looks to inspire people to put their best foot forward, and help to bring back the love. According to Girault and Perry, they are starting a love revolution. The mission doesn’t stop there as with the Oasis Imagery & Film-directed video, the Artists spread the love in the schools, in the streets, and at events. They also do their part in providing smiles along the way through various gestures, and the visual is filled with an abundance of positivity. “Gaye Lòv La” came right on time for “Haitian Flag Day” festivities, but it’s an important release to play all year round. Let’s spread the love today, let it start with you.

.@MichaelBrun Gives “Jessica” An Island Remix With @CharlyBlack876, @JPerryOfficial, & @MachelMontano

This past summer, the Jessicas of the world gained some extra confidence thanks to the release of the single “Jessica” by Michaël Brun, SAINt JHN, Charly Black, J. Perry, and J Balvin. The track did very well with the public, and was featured on Brun’s “FAMI SUMMEREP. The song showed that when it comes to making hits, the Caribbean is elite in that department as various Islands represented for a summer hit. Brun wants to take it to another level with the release of the “Jessica (Island Remix)“.

With Michaël Brun (Haiti) behind the boards, we get the familiar hook of the original version of “Jessica“, but on the “Jessica (Island Remix)”, we get verses from J. Perry (Haiti), Charly Black (Jamaica), and the Soca legend, Machel Montano (Trinidad & Tobago). The new release promises to bring plenty in these chilly times, and will once again boosting the confidence of all the Jessicas. Expect this version to get the people moving again, and further emphasize that the Caribbean runs tings!

.@MichaelBrun Recruits @CharlyBlack876, @SaintJHN, & @JPerryOfficial For “Jessica”

It’s Summer, the vibes is right, and there’s a young lady who is dazzling to the eye, and the center of attention. She is the inspiration for a new single by Haitian DJ/Producer Michaël Brun called, “Jessica“.

“Jessica” brings talents from the Caribbean which includes Michaël Brun and J. Perry from Haiti, Charly Black from Jamaica, and SAINt JHN from Guyana (Colombia’s own J Balvin co-wrote and performed, and Jamaica’s Izy Beats co-wrote on this as well). The song finds the Artists infatuated over a young lady named Jessica, and they express how she has affected them. The Artists combine great melodies and lyrics, and we know all the Jessicas will be acting extra every time this song is played. “Jessica” is featured on Brun’s upcoming “FAMI SUMMEREP, which will be packed with a few more songs that will raise the temperatures. Brun has been active for a number of years, and has worked with many of his Caribbean peers. Where is the Jessica in your life?

Toyan "Spar With Me" on 13thStreetPromotions.com #Jamaica #Dancehall #Music #13thStreetPromotions #Toyan #RankinToyan #PupaToyan #SparWithMe #JunjoLawes #1981 #Caribbean #OldSchool #Oldies #OldiesSunday

OLDIES SUNDAY: Toyan – Spar With Me (1981)

When it comes to Jamaican music, there is respect given to the Artist/Writer, and the Producer. What some forget about is the DJ/Selector who helps to break the Record. Before Social Media was a thing, it was the Disc Jockey who made sure your song got played. It’s still relevant in some scenarios today, and we still have to respect their role. Keeping with the theme of songs that may have been hits in the Summer, today’s Oldies Sunday selection comes from Toyan a.k.a. Rankin Toyan a.k.a. Pupa Toyan with his single, “Spar With Me“.

Produced by Henry “Junjo” Lawes and released through the Jah Guidance label in 1981, Toyan dedicated “Spar With Me” to the DJ, more specifically the legendary Barry “Barry G” Gordon. Toyan’s energetic delivery makes the song a very interesting one to listen to as he invites listeners to tune into the Barry G “The Boogey Man“, a name that has been one of the DJ’s trademarks, and invites the ladies to bubble with him as Barry selects the hits. Barry G has been a part of Jamaican music for nearly 50 years, and has used his platform and skillset to break Artists and Records, helped generations of Artist secure #1 chart success, and secured his place as one of the greatest Jamaican DJs whose name has travelled near and far.

“Spar With Me” became a popular track when it was released, and was featured on Toyan’s  1982 album of the same name. Toyan was one of the top Dancehall acts in the 80s, and he had a great following, inspiring a number of Artists. Since the release of “Spar With Me”, he went on to release more songs, and took his talents to various parts of the world. Sadly, he tragically lost his life in 1991, but his music continues to hold a significant place in the lives of many. Big up to the DJ.

Thank You Toyan For This Classic. Rest Well.
