Before Royal Blu, before “sinG with God“, before “El Fuego“, there was Sean-Michael Francis a.k.a. “Blu Kid“! In today’s episode of our “Quick Throwback” series, we go back to the year 2011 to hear BluKid’s “Legal Badman“! Produced by Di Prodigyy, Blu sheds light on corruption in Jamaica’s Law Enforcement system where Police Officers abuse their powers and oppress many. Donning the role of a “Legal Badman“, they do whatever a Criminal would do, but shouldn’t face any repercussions because they wear the badge and the uniform.
Since the release of “Legal Badman”, BluKid went on to make some noise with the “Lethal Audio” Band, changed his name to “Royal Blu“, and released enough songs to make him one of the emerging young acts on the radars of many in Jamaica and overseas. Stay tuned for another quick throwback!

The Sun may be out shining as bright as ever, and you’ve left the comfort of your bed, you haven’t started the day until you hear some new music from Recording Artist, Royal Blu! Teaming up with Germany’s DJ Densen and Urban Tree Music, he kicks off a lil R&B vibe with “Early Morning” (Get It Here). When it’s that time to hold a reasoning with your significant other, or even get it on before heading out to a full day of various activities, Blu is speaking for you! Nothing’s wrong with conversing about the elements in the Periodic Table at 4:50 AM, nothing’s wrong if you wanna “Sexercise” at 3:30 AM either. Artwork provided by the talented KokaBZD! A fun listen from “El Fuego“, give it a listen below!
Creating an International appeal through the use of the social Inter web, the 13th Street Promo team took great pleasure in sitting and working with Royal Blu (Formerly “BluKid”) as one of its most incredible Interviews to date. After creating the right setting with Blvk H3ro and Leno Banton, it was only natural that we moved directly ahead to work directly with one of Jamaica’s budding prodigies. Let’s Begin…
13thStreetPromotions: Where does your talent come from? It resonates well with fans from what we’ve observed.
TheRoyalBlu: I’m the only one in my family that does music. The only one that I know of. So I’d like to believe that my talent is a direct gift from God. I’m just blessed to have people truly appreciate what I do.
13thSP: Have you gone through any voice training as an artiste?
TheRB: Yeah, I’ve done voice training up at Avant Acadamy of Music. Big up to Andrew Dixon for being my instructor. Although I skipped their end of year concert that they wanted me to perform at (haha). But yeah, apart from that, I just do my own personal warm-ups and stuff when I can.
Today I bring to you a musical selection from the one they call “El Fuego” a.k.a. Royal Blu. Titled “Jus Bill” and produced by J.L.L., we hear Blu flexing his lyrics and flows on a very laid back Jazzy Ella Fitzgerald sampled Production that will provide the soundtrack to you hopping in the car and taking that long cruise on the highway, or have you blasting it on the top of the highest elevation you have access to. Expect bouts of doing the “Dab” throughout the song, some “pull up” moments, and lots more feel good moments. This is what it sounds like when the sky is clear! Off his “Fuego Fridays” series, take a listen to the track below and share your thoughts in the comments section.
