Fresh off some gigs overseas, Kabaka Pyramid has come a long way and captured many with the good music he creates. Tonight on Onstage he had a conversation with Winford Williams. Here he spoke on his background, his experiences travelling and performing overseas, being a part of the new Reggae movement, fighting the good fight, and his upcoming performance at Usain Bolt’s Tracks & Records. One thing with Kabaka, interview or no interview, you can have great conversations with him. One of the artists I respect, I hope many get to attend the upcoming event. Today’s new video comes from Kabaka Pyramid. Titled “Liberal Opposer” and directed by Jason Lannaman for Arawak Studios, Kabaka drops conscious lyrics about fighting for what is right, tracing his lineage to Ethiopia, and living right in every way. Accurate! Today Kabaka Pyramid released the visual for a single that has been making its rounds. The DJ Frass produced “Never Gonna Be A Slave“, which was directed by Eric Christian King and shot in Kingston, Kabaka speaks on not being a slave to the system, never selling out on his beliefs, how people suffer in the system, discrimination, and promoting consciousness. Very good video here and I like the shots where Kabaka is on top of the building and when he’s interacting with people. “The fire burning immaculate“.
