Yanah Doesn’t Want To Be Unappreciated In “Wahala”

In this thing called love, no one wants to be treated like an option, nor made to feel less than. Yanah is going through something like that, but she’s putting her foot down, and calling the shots in her new single, “Wahala“.

Produced by Travis “Trex” Bailey, Yanah doesn’t like to feel unappreciated, and she’s doing something about it in, “Wahala”. “Wahala” means “trouble/problem” in Nigerian Pidgin, but Yanah’s love interest is going to have a lot of problems on his hands if he’s not treating her right, and she’s the last one to trouble. With the accompanying Music Video directed by BadGee Studios, we’re treated to a clean visual, and we see a beautiful Woman who is a little unlucky in the love department. Yanah has been staying consistent with the music this year, and for the fans, she might just deliver a project later this year. Stay tuned for the updates, and enjoy her recent releases.

She has experienced her share of deceit, betrayals, and lies, and she’s kicking him to the curb, and focus on her peace. The Music Video that follows, directed by Lord Edit Production, finds her enjoying life again, finding her happy place, and moving on to better things and situations. The track serves as motivation for those who are in similar situations, and are encouraged to walk away. Likkle Vybz Is “Ready” With A New Sound

Life has been good for Dancehall Artist Likkle Vybz. His Dad is back on the streets, his music is doing well, and family life has never been better. This year, he and his brother Likkle Addi are determined to conquer a larger chunk of the Dancehall scene with a number of music releases. This time around Vybz steps in a different way with the new video for the track, “Ready“.

Released through Uptown Gaza Records, Likkle Vybz tries out a new sound on his new single, “Ready”. With the ladies in mind, Vybz delivers melodies throughout as he shares that the Rockstar lifestyle is something that he’s enjoying right now, as he’s being afforded a few benefits. Any chance of him settling down won’t happen anytime soon. Likkle Vybz dabbles into a Pop vibe with this new tune, and the  Rizzy-directed Music Video enhances it. “Ready” was featured on his “Love Lane EP” that was released this past February. It’s good to be different. Like his Dad, Vybz is making bold moves with his music, and it may pay off for him in a big way. Let’s see what else he has in store.

She started the year with a collaboration with Lila Ike that has been bubbling up, and many wondered what her next move would be. She has a few tricks up her sleeve, and she unleashes the follow up single, “Different Type Of Love“.

Produced by J.L.L., Dave Nunes, and FS Green, Mahalia calls up Masicka for her new “Different Type Of Love” single. The Singer has her eyes on this Man, and she shares her time with him that is nothing like she has experienced before. Whether she’s under the influence or just lovestruck, she is enjoying every second of it. Masicka, though here for a short time on the track, adds some Dancehall vibes over the production, and will have fans yearning for an extended version between these two Artists. OLDIES SUNDAY: Tami Chynn – Hyperventilating (2004)

The Month of March is recognized as “Women’s History Month“, and we recognize a few great Women who made significant contributions to Music. Today’s selection on “Oldies Sunday” comes from Tami Chynn (Now Tami Chin-Mitchell) with the track, “Hyperventilating“.

Produced by DJ Delano, Michael Jarrett, and Andre Saunders for Renaissance Production, and released on the “Stepz Riddim” in 2004, Tami Chynn stepped out blazing on “Hyperventilating”. The track finds her admiring someone who she could see something special happen with, and she makes her approach to him, sharing how them getting together would make her feel throughout the track. The high energy production matches with Tami’s Pop vibe and lyrics, and quickly put her in the spotlight. The “Stepz Riddim” gained popularity when it was released, and “Hyperventilating” was one of the top tracks in the compilation. It was also featured on her 2006 debut album, “Out Of Many…One“. The song was accompanied by a music video directed by Tim Naylor, and was released in 3 versions; the original edit, an edited version specifically made for the US market (BET, MTV, etc.), and a Director’s cut that too spicy for some TV networks. The single gained popularity for Chynn in Jamaica and the rest of the Caribbean, but gained moderate success when it crossed over to the International market, despite being re-released in 2006 through Universal Motown Records. Chynn’s contributions to Jamaican music however, inspired more local acts to take a more Pop-styled approach to their music.

Since the release of “Hyperventilating”, Tami Chynn would score a record deal with Akon’s Konvict Musik, and release more music over the years. She paused her career to focus on family, and her marriage to Dancehall Artist Wayne Marshall, whom she has been married to since 2009. She has also made numerous appearances in the Media over the years, and has ventured into the world of Vlogging through “Meet The Mitchells” brand on Youtube and Social Media, where her family has gained a huge following. She has hinted at times that she would return to music, but even if she doesn’t, many still remember her previous releases, including “Hyperventilating”.

The great thing about Women’s History Month, not only do we get to highlight some of the Women who have paved the way for others to follow, but we get to highlight the Women who are creating their own wave today. One of those Women is Recording Artist Yanah, who has been developing her sound for a number of years, and we believe she’s working on becoming a bigger, better Artist, inspiring others along the way. Recently, she premiered her new single, “Calm Down“.

Produced by Travis “Trex” Bailey, Yanah gets sensual on her new single, “Calm Down”. Using her sultry vocals over some solid production, she’s wooing listeners into her world, and for those who have their eye on her, you’ll be in for something fun when you get caught in her lyrics. Yanah continues to showcase her versatility, and “Calm Down” may become an instant favourite for those familiar with her music. The track is accompanied by a Music Video Co-directed with BadGee Studios, and we find the Singer raising the temperature with her visual. With the voice, lyrics, and looks, it’s going to be as little difficult to calm down, and we look forward to what else Yanah has in store this year.
