Nisou is a newcomer on the scene who aims to take over with her unique sound, and get the people talking with her music. She doesn’t want to join the crowd, she wants to start a movement. She steps up with her debut single, “Kit Kat“.

Produced by Reggie Crux and Neggle, Nisou deals with a bittersweet kind of love in, “Kit Kat”. She shares being in a relationship where there are tender moments, but it’s not something genuine and done for the right reasons. Despite sweet words and moments, they can’t patch up the real truth of the relationship, and walking away from this situation is the first step in loving yourself more. Nisou flexes with sultry vocals here, and she handles the production well for her debut. With a history of being in the performing arts, Nisou is ready for the main stage. Royal Blu may seem like a simple Man with his calm demeanor, but underneath is an Artist who possesses powerful lyrics, and knows how to light that fire when he enters the booth. Formerly known as Blu Kid, the Spanish Town native has been perfecting his craft, and has built a movement that continues to witness his rise. He has performed with some of the best, and now he makes a big step in his career. He releases his debut album, “Spain Root“.

Featuring 14 tracks and released through Easy Star Records, “Spain Root” is Royal Blu’s dedication to his hometown. The project is some of Blu’s best work yet, and he covers a lot of ground here. Showcasing a display of great songwriting, a solid command of whatever production is thrown his way, and holding his own when collaborating with others. Production of “Spain Root” is handled by DelaGroove, J.L.L., RiddimBoss, ProdByRoss, The Autos, G.Wav, Paris Lamont, Mundo, Yo Christon, KaleX, and Cuco Fyah, while he shares the booth with Protoje, Runkus, D’Yani, Akina Eman, and Kabaka Pyramid. This album is for Jamaica, for the world, and Spanish Town of course.

Produced by Kevstar Records on the “Island Soul Riddim“, Gio Mar shares some words of affirmation on, “Just Fine”. In a time where relationships are falling apart and love is uncertain, Gio is working on securing his, and encourage others to strengthen their respective bonds. Over some solid production, Gio delivers well, and he believes that this will be one of his biggest releases yet. It’s a new month! Welcome to June, a.k.a. the Wedding month for many. Big up those who are tying the knot this month, but what’s on your Wedding Playlist? Luckily for today’s “Oldies Sunday” selection, we have a suggestion. Check out Reggae Artists Alborosie and Etana’s “Blessing“.

Co-Produced with Clifton “Specialist” Dillion and released through Forward Recordings in 2008 and VP Records in 2009, Alborosie and Etana delivered what would become a part of many Wedding soundtracks in, “Blessing”. The duo share the joy of being together, joining in hearts and love, and emphasize that their union was a divine creation. The combination of their unique vocals over the powerful production make for a great listen, and shortly after its release, it became a hit. “Blessing” was featured on Etana’s debut album, “The Strong One” in 2009, and in 2014 on the “Alborosie & Friends” album. While we don’t have chart information on the track, it became a top charting song for many listeners worldwide.

Since the release of “Blessing”, Alborosie went on to have a fruitful career in Reggae. The Italy-born Artist scored more hits and released more albums, cementing his place in the culture. Etana went on to become a Reggae powerhouse, becoming the first Female Artist in nearly 20 years to be nominated for a GRAMMY. She has amassed a number of hits, but “Blessing” remains one of her biggest collaborations.

We Pay Tribute To The Late Junior Byles With Our Latest Playlist

On May 15, 2025, we learned that Roots Reggae Artist Kenneth Byles, more popularly known as Junior Byles, made his transition to the big Sound Stage in the Afterlife. The Singer gave the world a number of great songs, but was not able to maintain his career due to his declining Mental Health over the years. While there were glimmers of hope and times where he given help, they were all short-lived as other issues developed. Today, we remember his greatness with our latest Playlist, “Sampling Junior Byles“.

For over two hours, you can tune in to some of Junior Byles’ hits being sampled and covered in the “Sampling Junior Byles” Playlist. His classic “Fade Away” single is featured, along with contributions from the likes of Kabaka Pyramid, Little John, Rodney P, Sizzla, Cocoa Tea, Rebel MC, and more. Byles has inspired and influenced many over the years, and may his situation bring more awareness to Mental Health in Jamaica as it being “Mental Health Awareness Month“. Virgo shares his displeasure in deceptive people, and ensures that he stays far from them and their dirty ways. When he was at his lowest and needed genuine people around, the ones who he thought were solid, turned out to be fake, no matter what face they choose to wear for everyone else. As always, Romain Virgo gives the listeners an outstanding delivery, and continues to show dominance in his nearly 20 year career. The Singer is still reeling off of the success of his 2024 album, “The Gentle Man“, and over the weekend displayed nothing but greatness at the annual “Best Of The Best” Event in Miami.
