NEW VIDEO: @Protoje – I & I

Off the newly released “8 Year Affair” album Reggae singer Protoje released his music video for “I & I“. Directed by I & I & I (i’m guessing Protoje directed this), we see him and a few friends walking the streets and spreading messages and pamphlets out to people in efforts to help them learn about Marcus Garvey, Walter Rodney and Haile Selassie I. This video features cameos from Jah 9, Kabaka Pyramid, Chronixx and many others. As described by Protoje this was more than a video shoot, it was also a march that done in collaboration with author Dutty Bookman. Nice video, very clean quality and the song and idea were good ones. Check out the video below and share your thoughts in the comments section.

NEW VIDEO: @MarkussBMe – Sexy Body

markuss

Today’s music video comes from singjay Markuss Simms. Titled “Sexy Body” and directed by Tommy Cannonville, we see the video start off with a woman complaining to her girlfriend about her man and planning to make a change at the club. The rest of the video comprises of Markuss dancing with a few girls in different scenes and money being thrown in the club. In a way I thought that given the lyrics of the song Markuss would be going after one girl in the video but this was not the case. Check out the video below and share your thoughts in the comments section.

Not bad, as always Dax brings his powerful lyrics. Check out the video below and share your thoughts in the comments section.

NEW VIDEO: @RealiOctane – Nuh Trust None x Mad Dem x Nuh Care Who Vex Medley

iOcvideo

We have a world premiere! Today’s new music video comes from Reggae artist I Octane, and it’s a medley. The medley is based off Octane’s 3 big hits, “Nuh Trust None“, “Mad Dem” and “Nuh Care Who Vex“. In the video we see Octane deejaying his songs in different decorated rooms. Two ladies are featured in the video as well but one seems to show herself as a demon as her face changed into a skull in a scene. Directed by RDStudios, check out the video below and share your thoughts in the comments section.

OLDIES SUNDAY: Chalice x Tiger x @IamPapaSan x Lovindeer – Dancehall Monic (1990)

Today’s Oldies Sunday selection comes from Reggae band Chalice. Titled “Dancehall Monic” which was produced and released by the band in 1990, this was a song described as “Dancehall Music meets the Opera” as it had a Opera theme to it in the instrumental and delivery of the song. This song also featured three of the biggest entertainers at the time including Papa San, Tiger and Lloyd Lovindeer.

Mixtape Movements: @DiscJockFifty – Eazy Medz Oldies Jugglin’

AlbumArtLarge

Today’s mixtape comes from Jamaican DJ, Fifty and it promises to be a great one. Titled “Eazy Medz Oldies Jugglin‘”, this is a throwback reggae mix of some of the best songs from the 1990s. Featuring hits from Beres Hammond, Junior Tucker, Abijah, Chalice, Luciano, the late Garnet Silk and many others. This mix is so awesome for some of these songs brought me back to my childhood, especially the opening track (Dance Hall Monic by Chalice) and the Garnet Silk selections. Great collection for those who need to travel back in time though the hits. Check out the mix below and share your thoughts in the comments section.
