Everton Thomas & The Pathfinders - Make A Joyful Noise Jamaica Music Gospel Music Blog 13thStreetPromotions 13thStreetPromo I Shall Make It Oldies Sunday Oldies 1978 Caribbean Pastor Everton Thomas

OLDIES SUNDAY: Everton Thomas & The Pathfinders – I Shall Make It (1978)

Providing a lil inspiration this Oldies Sunday, we’re going back to Church with Everton Thomas (Now Bishop Everton Thomas) & The Pathfinders! With all the craziness going on, we need a lil peace, and soothing sounds (and other types of sound that keeps you going). Going back to the year 1978, we check out, “I Shall Make It“.

Produced by Everton Thomas and Stephen Stewart, this Gospel track was released through the Growth Label. On the track, the Sextet consisting of Everton, Jenny Tracey, Juliet Thomas, Lorna Otto, Silbert Thomas Jr., and Sharon Thomas, they come together to assure us that no matter how challenging our journey and trials are, GOD is there every step of the way, and we will be taken care of. “I Shall Make It” was featured on the group’s album, “Make a Joyful Noise“, which was released in 1978 (re-released recently), and boasts almost all original material, and Funk, Soul, and Country influences, something that not many Gospel acts would delve into. Fun fact, the album features background vocals from “Jamaica’s SongbirdKaren Smith, and Cleveland Browne, 1/2 of the legendary Production duo, Steely & Clevie (he also played Drums on the album).

Since then, Everton Thomas & the Pathfinders disbanded. Everton went on to deliver God’s word at the Immanuel Apostolic Church, while the others continued to minister to people over the years. Carrying on the legacy of the group is Recording Artist Chris Malachi, who is doing pretty well for himself so far in spreading the Gospel (and talent).

We urge you to stay safe, quarantine wisely, and stay sanitized always.

.@KimNainOfficial @CraigVoicemail & @KandyLeax Create Through The Pandemic On “OUTBREAK”

The Coronavirus is on a world tour, causing mischief at every stop. With safety measures being implemented and parts of the world are forced to be on lockdown, creatives are going through it. No matter how you’re taking in all this, you just have to create through it. That’s what Recording Artists Kim Nain, Qraig Voicemail, and Kandy Leax have been doing, and today we get to hear, “OUTBREAK“.

Produced by Frankie Music Productions, the trio share their thoughts on what’s going on right now, and making observations. They also encourage us to be safe out there, and give warning to what can happen if we’re not careful in this pandemic. With the combinations of beautiful vocals and production, this is another piece of work that we need during this time. It’s confusing, sad, and frustrating right now, but we believe it will get better when we help each other and be safe.

.@Kris_Karz Fires Off New Music With Timothy David On “LUST”

Producer Kris Karz is in album mode. Having given his sound to various Artists over the years, it’s his time to fire off some of his own music filled with his own lyrics. Starting things off, he drops, “LUST“.

Featuring Recording Artist Timothy David, Kris kicks off a few bars about dealing with lusting over a young lady over some production that are like beams of sunlight crashing into a dark room. We all deal with lust in different ways, but Kris Karz doesn’t put up with a few things during his pursuits. Off his upcoming album, “Portraits“, expect to hear more and even see some visuals. Be sure to tune in to his Youtube Channel where he has been releasing a few Vlogs and Freestyles.

Bob Andy - Fire Burning Jamaica Reggae Music Blog Oldies Sunday Wild Flower Marcia Griffiths Caribbean Old School Music 1974

OLDIES SUNDAY: Bob Andy – Fire Burning (1974)

On Friday March 27, the legendary Keith “Bob Andy” Anderson C.D. passed away at the age of 75. A great Songwriter and Vocalist, he is considered one of Reggae’s greatest influential figures. He was also the founding member of The Paragons, and Bob and Marcia with the legendary Marcia Griffiths. Today we pay tribute to him with our latest Oldies Sunday selection. Though his collaborations with Marcia Griffiths are some of the most cherished, today we look at one of Bob’s songs that Griffiths covered (which later included a version with Recording Artist Cutty Ranks), “Fire Burning“.

Released in 1974 through the Wild Flower label, this was produced by Lloyd Charmers. The track finds Bob Andy giving some social commentary on people turning to crime and doing all manner of wrongdoing, and emphasizes that the fire is burning for those involved. The track was featured on his 1975 album, “The Music Inside Me“, and became a hit for him. It was covered by various Artists over the years including the aforementioned Marcia Griffiths.

Thank you for the hit songs Bob Andy, you will be missed while your music lives on!
