We don’t always know a person’s past or what they’re going through, but there comes a time where they share it all in their own way. Today, US Based Hip Hop/Reggae Artist Sadiki-I shares his life on “My Story“. Directed by Birhan Tonge of Royal Ras Productions and shot in Jamaica and New York, this features Junior Reid and a cameo appearance by popular US Media Personality Angela Yee. Here Sadiki spoke on his Montserrat heritage, being raised in Boston, being a part of the street life, his run ins with the law, and his spiritual journey as a Rastafarian and his journey to Africa. Island Jams Entertainment kicked off their 2016 with the “Bruk It Off Riddim“. With singles from Raine Seville, Blakkman, Mr. Peppa, Jah Mikes, and Ssense, it was only right for them to take it to the streets in their medley video. Anna Mariah, Digicel Rising Stars Season 12 Runner Up who thrilled audiences each week with fashion, flair, dramatic performances and powerhouse vocals is back in the spotlight with the release of her first single – RUSH – produced by Othniel ‘Taddy P’ Campbell for Independent Record Label, Soundsx360.
Inspired by a classic hit from the 90s, RUSH pays tribute to the entertainment icon, Paula Abdul and features an infectious fusion of Anna Mariah’s breathy, sultry vocals on an uptempo Dancehall beat. Manager and Executive Producer of the project, Simone Harris states “We wanted a song that would channel Anna’s organic style – she’s a young, beautiful, Island girl who has real appeal and we felt that RUSH with this contemporary spin would do just that”.
Anna Mariah, who is also in her final semester at the Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts: School of Music is focused on building a solid musical career and carving out her own place in the music industry. Commenting on her first commercial release, Anna Mariah says: “It’s an overwhelming feeling…bordering on unbelievable, I am incredibly proud of my work on this track with Taddy P. We put a lot of hard work into RUSH as my first release, and I have a lot more to come”. Taddy P, who has been a mentor to Anna Mariah and who encouraged her to pursue her passion for music says: “It’s been great to watch Anna grow as an artist and to now work with her on her first single…it’s been a blessing all the way through”

Today in a few part series, I feature some of the new set of kids on the scene whose parents have covered much ground in their respective careers.
“The Release” is an Entertainment Program featured on Hype TV and Sun City Radio every Tuesday at 8:30 PM, with repeats on Thursday and Saturday at 6:30 PM.
