Earlier today, Jamaican Recording Artist/Creative LatyKim a.k.a. “Lois Lane” surprised us with a brand new freestyle! Borrowing the “Chun Li” beat by Nicki Minaj, Laty went in, and made sure let us know that you’re gonna feel her bars! Whether she’s taking the stage or handling things behind the scenes, LatyKim is a person who believes in talent, and looks to uplift many like herself in Jamaica, and the rest of the world. With her latest single, “Gi State” out, she is not looking to fall back for anyone or anything, and it’s her time to shine!

OLDIES SUNDAY: Mr. Pants – The Bam Bam (1992)

Today’s Oldies Sunday selection promises to get you dancing. While dancing music is no stranger to Dancehall, we go back a couple decades to hear a fun one from Dancehall Artist, Mr. Pants. Today’s selection is, “The Bam Bam“! Produced by Elon J Robinson on a variation of the “Bam Bam Riddim“, the track was released through the Top Rank label in 1992. Throughout the song, Mr. Pants paid respect to the “Bam Bam Riddim”, and utilized “Bam Bam” as its punchline. On the song, Mr. Pants utilized a vocal style similar to then top Deejay Tiger, but overall made a catchy song that required you to bust a dance move or few. Everybody love off the “Bam Bam”, and you should too!

Mr. Pants’ “The Bam Bam” enjoyed some success, and was added to his string of releases which included, “Original Stamina”, “New Style”, “50 Pear”, “Rema and Jungle” with Yami Bolo, “Carry It Back”, and “Duck” which was also featured on the “Bam Bam Riddim”, and utilized the same Tiger styled delivery. Mr. Pants hasn’t released many songs since “The Bam Bam”, but fans still check for Mr. Pants’ music every now and then. If you’re familiar with Event Director/Jamaican Social Media Personality @iRealPedro, this is his Dad. Shout out Pedro!

Influenced by Dancehall and Hip Hop sounds, he has been working his way up, and leave an impression on those who listen to his recordings. Like most creators during the this pandemic, he has been working on new music, and “Benz” is one of the many completed works.

Never stopped waving the flag for Jamaican Hip Hop, Rapper Five Steez has been putting in the necessary work to make the “First Coast” an official thing. With a decade plus in the biz, he has showcased his sound that has stayed true to the Hip Hop roots, and commands a presence that’s respected worldwide. With plenty projects to his name, one of them stood out for a time, and that was 2016’s “HeatRockz” with Producer Mordecai. In 2020, the duo follow it up with “HeatRockz 2.0“!

With 4 tracks loaded plus a bonus track that’s available with the EP’s purchase, Five Steez continues to display his passion for the art, and dabbles in a style that pays respect to the OGs, while still being modern. Mordecai on the other hand, shows growth in his production from the last project, and still gives Steez and listeners some head bopping sounds. If you’re a follower of Five Steez, you know he has a lot more in store before the end of the year. Remember going to Nightclubs? The popular Taboo Nightclub was one that many had a fair share of enjoying. Sadly, making those moves isn’t possible right now, but Khxos will have you reminiscing on the nightlife adventures and more on, “Taboo“.

Produced by Kheilstone, the song features fellow Recording Artists Konshens and Chargii. Inspired by his experiences at the Taboo Nightclub, Khxos and his collaborators deliver something for the ladies that’ll have them dancing away the quarantine blues, and anticipating the return to “Outside“. With the energetic production and spicy lyrics, this is definitely a great addition to sex Playlists everywhere. If you’ve been following up Khxos’ music over the years, you know he doesn’t play when it comes to making songs for the ladies (remember “Dopamine“?). Adding Konshens to the mix will cause even more temperatures rising, we guarantee that. This marks Khxos’ 3rd release through Delicious Vinyl Island, where he has made an alliance with since 2019.
