There’s a party going on somewhere, and best believe some Dancehall Music is playing. UK Rapper Chip looks to add to the vibes bring the Dancehall vibes to his people. Just in time for the Notting Hill Carnival, he shares the video for the single, “Gyalis Pree“.

Directed by Chip and BDot, Chip has his focus on the Women, the liquor, and some good times all around in the video for, “Gyalis Pree”. One of the latest acts to tackle DJ Frass’ “Party Bus Riddim“, Chip is here for a nice time, and you’re encouraged to get the Casamigos and the Dragon Stouts, get the ladies in the mood, and have everyone to party with you. Vybz Kartel once asked, “Whappen if we waan fi party?“, and British-Nigerian Singer/Rapper Darkoo gave us another reason to party. Earlier this year, she gained popularity for her Dess Dior-featured single, “Favourite Girl“. The track sampled the classic “Diwali Riddim” by Lenky Marsden, and the single has been getting heavy airplay around the world. Keeping the momentum going, she follows up with the “Favourite Girl (Remix)“.

Featuring Nigerian Singer/Rapper Rema, Darkoo continues with the vibes on “Favourite Girl (Remix)”. With a music video shot by JM Films, they take it to the club where it’s a sea of party goers, and lots of thrilling times. Darkoo finds herself with the ladies, while Rema pops bottles, and they keep the energy up. With a likkle Dancehall vibes, you can’t go wrong, and “Favourite Girl” will enjoy a longer shelf life. Jamaican Songbird Janeel Mills has been blessing the world with her voice, and gracing stages for a number of years. She has worked with some of your favourite Artists, and special moments are made instantly when she sings her first note. Recently, she tapped into one of her musical inspirations for a track called, “Johnny“.

Produced by Makiri Whyte, Janeel Mills channels the late Amy Winehouse in “Johnny”. Covering the 2007 hit single “Valerie“, Mills gives us a different perspective with her cover as she speaks of a Man she loves. “Valerie” was originally recorded by English Indie Rock Band The Zutons in 2006, but was covered the same year by Winehouse, and released in 2007 as a collaboration with Producer Mark Ronson. The song went on to go 3x Platinum. Mills not only does the cover justice, but give it a Reggae feel from its original Pop/Jazz sound. Accompanying the track is a Music Video directed by Ifidel Williams, and it finds Janeel reminiscing on the good times with her lover, in between solo performances of the track. Badness doesn’t take day offs, but it can take trips. From yawd to abroad, there are many who uphold certain orders, and keep it gangsta. St. Thomas native Chronic Law knows about the badness, and he brings along a friend to let you know what can happen in, “Top Bwoy“.

Featuring UK Rapper M24, Chronic Law’s “Top Bwoy” is the Brixton/St. Thomas link up, and is the first release off of the upcoming “Yaard Drill Riddim” which was produced by Urban Gurillaz Entertainment, and Eastern Entertainment. The “Law Boss” and M24 bring plenty badness that will have rival gangs paranoid, and them being extra cautious. Dancehall meets UK Drill here, and may make way a lot more collaborations. Accompanying the track is a Music Video directed by G Team, and the Artists mean business. M24 has been on the scene for a number of years, and is known for a number of singles including the breakout single, “We Don’t Dance“. Chronic Law continues to release music at a rapid rate, and he has outworked many out there. Sully and Dushane badness.

Jamaican Music continues to make a bigger presence in more of the things we enjoy, and we love it. Recently, Video Streaming giant Netflix released the Sci-Fi drama, “The Kitchen“. The Film stars British Rapper/Actor Kane “Kano” Robinson and Jedaiah Bannerman, and was directed by Kibwe Tavares, and Daniel Kaluuya, known for the Films “Black Panther“, and “Get Out“. The British Film focuses on the characters Izi and Benji (Played by Robinson and Bannerman respectively) as the manoeuvre through a dystopian future London, as residents of the housing project, “The Kitchen”. The Film is filled with great visuals, and a selection of music that range from 80s hits, to Afrobeat, to UK Rap, to familiar Jamaican music that we share with you below.

Music from “The Kitchen” included the Jamaican hits “Stay So” by Dancehall Artist Busy Signal, and a dub version of “Walk Away From Love” from British Reggae Singer, Bitty McLean. “Stay So” was produced by Dameon Gayle for Warriors Musick on the “New Box Riddim“, and released in 2017. “Walk Away From Love” is a cover of US Singer David Ruffin’s 1975 hit, and featured production from the era of Duke Reid productions on his Treasure Isle label. Both the dub and single versions of “Walk Away” are featured on McLean’s 2004 album, “On Bond Street KGN. JA.“. Both songs have made significant marks in the careers of the respective Artists, and adds to the ever-stirring pot of cultures that Immigrants have shared with the British scene as highlighted in the Film. “The Kitchen” has already gained favourable reviews online, and is a top 10 Film on Netflix.
