The “Dutty Money Riddim” that Rvssian unleashed has brought forward hit songs for the 2020s, and gave the original “Go-Go Club Riddim” new life. This week, it is a part of war as Dancehall divas Stefflon Don and Jada Kingdom‘s beef has taken a different turn. While you will not get all the details over here to how it got started, we know this was long overdue. After a series of subliminal shots, Stefflon Don steps out with the first attack called, “Dat A Dat“.

With no time to waste, Stefflon Don gets aggressive on “Dat A Dat”. With her sights set on her target, she stays in her attacking formation throughout, and listeners will be entertained, egging on her opponent to answer with her own diss track. Sting may be over, but 2024 made way for a cat fight. Not many expected this, but only time will tell how much further this beef will escalate. Stay tuned.

It was the day before Christmas, and everyone’s rushing. They’re either buying gifts to keep loved ones blushing, or checking off lists in grocery shopping. Regardless of what’s going on, it’s Christmas time on Oldies Sunday! We go back in time to check out a selection by UK Reggae Band The Cimarons called, “Holy Christmas“.

Produced by Robert Thompson and E. Mulby for A House Production and released through the Downtown label in 1971, The Cimarons celebrated the true reason for the season in “Holy Christmas”. The song recognizes the birth of Jesus Christ, and encourages everyone to sing of his birth, and foster the right spirit, and sing aloud. Backed by great production, the band delivered soulful vocals for a song that was instantly liked. Hope the season caught you in a good space. Please be safe this Christmas Eve.

450 Tops The Charts With “Wild N Rich”, Takes On The UK

Dancehall Artist 450 has become one of the more consistent Artists this year, and it has been paying off with a significant growth in his streaming numbers and fanbase, and a steady increase in bookings. The hitmaker secured charting success with his recent single “Wild N Rich”, was the talk of the town in Trinidad, and is gearing up to take things to another level in the UK.

The Week.Day-produced “Wild N Rich” quickly found favour with 450 fans, and the Damaniac Visualz-directed video trended for a number of days on Youtube. Since its release on November 3, the single has secured a #1 chart placement on Apple Music in 12 countries. Thanks to its rising popularity, 450 followed up with an “‘Wild N Rich’ Open Verse Challenge” on Social Media, allowing fans to create videos contributing original lyrics to the hit single.

While bookings have increased for 450, his recent appearance in Trinidad & Tobago proved to be one for the books as he had fans singing his hits word for word during a headline-worthy performance. 450 will be closing off the month of November with his recently announced UK tour. Starting on November 18, Sheffield, Birmingham, Bristol, and London will be singing along to his many hits. A collaboration like this is needed like an Ontime Taxi after a party, and it continues to show that Afrobeats and Dancehall will always click, and the sounds will always be global. Earlier this week, we shared that Jamaican Producer Minto a.k.a. “Minto Play Da Riddim” will officially break into the Afrobeats scene with the single, “Intoxicated“, a track featuring Nigeria/UK-based Artist, Kid AlpHa. Music lovers have been anticipating the track’s release, and now it’s available for them to enjoy.

Combining Minto’s ability to blend great sounds to make something that the world will enjoy with Kid AlpHa’s melodic delivery, “Intoxicated” will find couples taking over the dance floors, beautiful vibes will fill the air, and the liquor will be flowing.
