Looking back at the past can’t always be a bad thing as it aids in your growth, and shows how much your life has improved along the way. Lila Ike has come a long way however, and today she lets us in on her journey on “Where I’m Coming From“! With a visual directed by Nickii Kane and Lila, Lila went back to her hometown of Christiana, Manchester (Manchester’s the home of this Blog 😄) to reconnect and built a vibe with friends, family, the In.Digg.Nation team, and Chi Ching Ching! The visual also shows a younger Lila Ike during her Manchester High School (Sic Luceat Lux) days where was seen assisting the School Choir, performing at her graduation, and interacting with friends. With Lila, you know the fashion will come out as she rocked various hairstyles and outfits throughout.

With solid singles out, Lila Ike is continuing her path in being one of the upcoming greats in recent years. Regardless of where she is in life, she’ll always give thanks to The Most High for the blessings and the strength throughout. Be on the lookout for Lila Ike as she’ll be performing in a town near you soon on her headlining European Tour! Lila Ike EP on the way too.

Producer/Recording Artist/Videographer Kris Karz was away for a while, and now he’s back with new content from his “Kngly Live” Imprint. Having released a series of Vlogs, viewers get to see some behind the scenes stuff, and everyday happenings in Kris’ life. In his latest Vlog he gets into Cable management and BTS production, and he lets us in on a song he made. Inspired by the Donald Glover, Letitia Wright, and Rihanna starred “Guava Island“, Kris Karz takes us from idea, to creation of the beats and lyrics, to the finished product. How did he do? While they show off the versatility of the “pods”, we’re treated to the sounds of Recording Artist/Producer Tessellated (featured in one of our Producers to know articles) whose 2016 “I Learn’t Some Jazz Today” was the Commercial’s soundtrack! Featuring a sample of Jamaican born/US based Masego’s “YOU GON’ LEARN SOME JAZZ TODAY“, it’s only right you enjoy hearing this through your Airpods. For those unfamiliar, Tessellated was one of the featured acts on the popular single, “Pine & Ginger“!

Nicki Minaj is looking to cause problems with new music! While she has been enjoying the success of her “Queen” album, and promoting it worldwide, she’s looking to take over this summer with the new single, “Megatron“! While she kicks things off with a Mike Ho directed video, a familiar Jamaican Riddim can be heard throughout the Pop Wansel and NOVA Wav production. It is none other than Jamaican Producer Danny Browne’s “Filthy Riddim“! Released in 1998 through his Mainstreet Records, it is one of the latest Dancehall Riddims to have enjoyed sampling by a huge International Artist (In 2016, Richie Stephens’ “Sail Away Riddim” was sampled on Rihanna’s hit, “Work“!).

Deejay Shabba Ranks’ “Ting A Ling” was also sampled on “Megatron”. The track was released in 1992, and produced by Production duo Steely & Clevie (Who is Danny’s brother by the way) on the “Gi-Gi Riddim“. Knowing Nicki Minaj’s pull, expect “Megatron” to be streamed millions of times. Danny Browne’s “Filthy Riddim” featured the hits, “Heads High” by Mr. Vegas, “Breeze Off” by Lady G., and General Degree’s “Traffic Blocking“. Stay tuned to the Blog for a follow up Article.
