.@Kraff_Gad Shares Visual For “Julius Caesar”

Dancehall Artist Kraff continues to keep his production line busy, and he is covering more ground with his live performances. The “1 Buduchop” boss recently released the visual for the track, “Julius Caesar“.

Shot in Canada and directed by The Knemesis, Kraff belts out lyrics like a mad poet on “Julius Caesar”. Over production by Droptop Records, he makes bold statements, reflects on his rise, and puts the pieces together that will make him a greater Artist over time. A clean visual to support the track, and Kraff is looking to keep things more interesting as the year progresses. He was a part of a small feud recently, but that won’t get in the way of his mission. Get familiar with him if you haven’t already.

Intence x Kizzy Don "Toxic Relationship" on 13thStreetPromotions.com #Jamaica #Dancehall #Music #13thStreetPromotions #Intence #KizzyDon #ToxicRelationship #Toxic #Relationship #MusicVideo #CountreeHype #1KizzyDon #Caribbean

Intence & Kizzy Don Share Their “Toxic Relationship”

Toxic relationships, how many of us have them? It has become so common that it’s the norm for many people. Some love them, others try to get out of them. Dancehall Artists Intence and Kizzy Don team up for an interesting collaboration as they deal with a “Toxic Relationship“.

In a 9 Mile Visualz-directed clip, Intence and Kizzy Don get into a war of words that may trigger a few viewers. They display such tension throughout the video, and it can only lead to worse consequences, or cooling off in the best way possible. Over some Countree Hype production, the Intence/Kizzy Don release could open doors for more collaborations, and maybe them extending “Toxic Relationship” into more content. Be careful of the toxicity out there.

OLDIES SUNDAY: @BadBrainsBand – Leaving Babylon (1982)

It’s Oldies Sunday, and today we’re going to do something different. While this section has been home to many Artists who hail from the Caribbean, what about those who have been influenced by the Caribbean? For today’s selection, we check out US band Bad Brains, and their track, “Leaving Babylon“.

“Leaving Babylon” was produced by Jay Dublee, and performed by original Bad Brains band members H.R., Dr. Know, Darryl Jenifer, and Earl Hudson. It was released through the ROIR (Reach Out International Records) label in 1982. Though Bad Brains originally started out as a Punk Rock band, they also tapped into the Reggae sound thanks to seeing Bob Marley perform live in their home base of Washington D.C., H.R.’s Jamaican background, and leaning into the Rastafarian faith and culture. “Leaving Babylon” was one of their Reggae releases, and it not only featured the Reggae sound, but shared lyrics about escaping the society that left people destitute, dealt with phony Politicians, and seeking a better place as nothing will change from where they’re coming from. It also sampled the Bass line from The Royals’ 1968 single, “Pick Up The Pieces“.

“Leaving Babylon” was featured on Bad Brains’ self-titled debut studio album, and quickly won over listeners. It was covered by the likes of Sublime, Jesse Malin, and 311. Their debut album is one of the most groundbreaking releases for the hardcore scene, with many Artists citing it as one of the greatest ever. Bad Brains is widely considered the pioneers of Hardcore Punk Rock, and along with fusing Reggae into the Rock scene, they paved the way for many bands to follow. Since the release of “Leaving Babylon”, they have released more albums, went through a number of breakups and reunions, and are still active today. Reggae Artist Jesse Royal briefly joined the band in 2015. “Leaving Babylon” is still a favourite for many listeners of Bad Brains.

Thank You Bad Brains For This Track!

Trippie Redd x Tommy Lee Sparta "Helicopter" on 13thStreetPromotions.com #Jamaica #Ohio #HipHop #Dancehall #Music #13thStreetPromotions #TommyLeeSparta #TrippieRedd #ALoveLetterToYou5 #Helicopter #Caribbean

.@TrippieRedd Recruits Tommy Lee Sparta For “Helicopter”

A couple months ago, we featured US Rapper Trippie Redd’s collaboration with Rvssian and Vybz Kartel called “Sixteen. We mentioned in the Article that there was a collaboration between him and Dancehall Artist Tommy Lee Sparta that will see the light of day. It is finally here, and it’s called, “Helicopter“.

Produced by Rvssian, Trippie Redd and Tommy Lee Sparta combine their unique vocals and melodic deliveries to make for an interesting combination. Nuff badness displayed over here, and to be honest, it would be cool to hear more collaborations from them. Both have a liking for the Goth/Rock vibe, their content can intertwine, and they just match. The Now Or Never/Shane Creative-directed video was shot in Jamaica, and we believe it was around the same time that “Sixteen” was done. “Helicopter” is featured on Trippie’s newly released “A Love Letter To You 5“. Sparta x 1400.

Chronic Law "Gun Pon Belly" on 13thStreetPromotions.com #Jamaica #Dancehall #Music #13thStreetPromotions #ChronicLaw #LawBoss #GunPonBelly #RichBadnness #Caribbean

Even When Partying, Chronic Law Keeps The “Gun Pon Belly”

If you know Dancehall Artist Chronic Law, he’s a man that doesn’t get involved in everything. You can hear in his music that he’s not to be played with, and lives may be at stake if you think otherwise. Outside of that, he’ll boogie here and there, and he does just that on “Gun Pon Belly“.

“Gun Pon Belly” is Chronic Law having a gangsta party with the ladies, and staying alert at the same time. The track has a catchy chorus, and you’ll catch yourself reciting it while doing a two step. The track was produced by CollectDiBred Entertainment, and the music video, which finds the “Law Boss” with a full cup, a full clip, and a couple ladies, was directed by Crane Motion. “Fada Dark” has his moments, but you might catch him cracking a smile and feeling nice. Gangsta nuh dance, dem jus rock away!
