.@XanaRomeo Carries On The Legacy With “The Divine Blueprint” Double Album

Last year, the world lost a legend by the name of Max Romeo. With 60 years of music, he built a career that inspired and entertained generations. A legacy that’s celebrated the world over, is now being carried on by his children. Xana Romeo has been one of the children who followed in her Father’s footsteps in upholding strong stances, and deliver music with powerful messages. With many years under her belt, she stands tall with her siblings in keeping the Romeo name alive. She ventures into the new year with “The Divine Blueprint“.

A follow up to her 2021 EPThe Roots Of X” and her 2016 debut album “Wake Up“, Xana Romeo provides guidance, love, motivation, meditation, and positivity with her new album, “The Divine Blueprint”. Released as a double album with “The Divine Dub“, the side B to the album featuring Dub versions of side A’s tracks, Romeo is ensuring she covers the Earth with her sound, and carry on the tasks that her Father started. Production on TDB are handled by Xana and Charmax Music, with collaborations with Lutan Fyah, Addis Pablo, Jallanzo (who steers the “Dub” album with Xana), Micah Shemaiah, Brother Azizzi Romeo, and of course her Father the late Max Romeo. Xana Romeo will take her blueprint to every part of the globe physically, and over the streams, with all intention of connecting with the people the right way. Time to build the structure, and add to her own legacy.

Chip Off The Old Block: Meet The New Kids Of Dancehall x Reggae (Pt. 1)

First they started out as the youth of the Dancehall/Reggae culture, now they’re parents with growing kids. It isn’t unusual for the child of an Entertainer to follow in their parent’s footsteps one way or the other as at times they bring a modern take on their parent’s creations, or create their own lane. Some of the most famous off springs include Stephen, Ziggy, and Damian “Junior Gong” Marley (Sons of Bob Marley), Chino and Di Genius (Sons of Freddie McGregor), Junior Tucker (Son of Jimmy Tucker), Morgan Heritage (Children of Denroy Morgan), Tarrus Riley (Son of Jimmy Riley), Queen Ifrica (Daughter of Derrick Morgan), Protoje (Son of Lorna Bennett), Chronixx (Son of Chronicle) and many more. Today in a few part series, I feature some of the new set of kids on the scene whose parents have covered much ground in their respective careers.

OLDIES SUNDAY: @CharMaxRomeo – Chase The Devil (1976)

Today’s Oldies Sunday selection comes from “The Son Of Selassie” a.k.a. Max Romeo. Titled “Chase The Devil“, this was produced by Lee “Scratch” Perry with backing by “The Upsetters” band in 1976 for Island Records. It was also a single included in Max’s 4th studio album, “War Inna Babylon“. The song brings forth a “Good conquering evil” theme where the Devil is being a negative force on Earth and when Max dons his Iron shirt, he will fight the Devil and send him to outer space. Max later explained that the Devil is everything negative in our minds and the Iron shirt is our strength of spirit that allows one to cast out the Devil.
