In recognition of May being Child’s Month, 13th Street Promotions is dedicating this Oldies Sunday post to the youth. Many of us can look back at our own childhood when we’d imitate our favourite Artists and pretend we are established stars. What many may or may not know is that some of our favourites started out or even got discovered in their early stages. While we know that acts like the late US Pop Star Michael Jackson and Jamaican Singer Jimmy Tucker started out very young (Jimmy was Jamaica’s 1st Child Prodigy in the 1950s), we’d like to inform you or refresh your memory on some of our Caribbean acts who started out young.
1. Machel Montano (Debut Age: 9) – Too Young To Soca
2. Beenie Man (Debut Age: 8) – Too Fancy
This is Not a Trend // This is a Way of Life
Totaniora is an art-form, the business you see is just a positive benefit.
We strive to collaborate with other young creative minds.
When two or more minds create something together, the result: IMPECCABLE
We would like to share our ideas and concepts with the world to make it more beautiful.
The aim is to create a better future through fashion, whilst incorporating a timeless style and trend throughout our designs.
The CHiLL Collection represents a state-of-being:
Chilled out – Relaxed – etc.
You know yourselves; individuals who are able to take their time and enjoy life rather than be stressed by it’s complexities! The collection is designed to have a timeless style, to represent the individual’s state-of-mind rather than how they look outwardly.
Simple Design: Powerful Statement
If you appreciate quality comfort, yet don’t seek to be defined by fashion – the Collection itself is made with you in mind.
Every aspect of the clothing is quality.
The material is designed to ensure wearer comfortability, emphasizing the concept of CHiLL.
The CHiLL Collection has a clean, simplistic design.
It’s aim is to provide you with premium clothing that has the benefit of being worn in a plethora of settings.
Our Tees and Sweaters are classic products of the Collection, however, submit yourself to TOTANIORA.com right now to see what else is in store.
Aiming to break out of the monotony today is singer Davianah with her latest single. Titled “Music Madness” and produced by Mark “Genaral” Thompson for Thompson House Music, Davianah gets at artists who fail to bring more positive subject matter to their audience and break out of the continuous stream of sexually charged lyrics being played on the airwaves. She also warns that the youths are listening to them and they are not setting a great example for them to follow. Davianah delivers on this one as this is a song you should keenly listen to. While it is true many of us listen and enjoy the sexually charged lyrics, at times we must make room for more positive lyrics and guide the youth along the way. Don’t turn the music to madness. Check out the track below and share your thoughts in the comments section.
