Today’s Oldies Sunday selection comes from the Prophet Capleton also known as the “Fire Man“. Titled “Forward Inna Dem Clothes” and produced by Greensleeves in 2001, Capleton deejays about women being more modest in their attire and how they should carry themselves in public. He also deejays that he prefers those women more as he is a Rastafarian with certain morals and principles.
“Forward Inna Dem Clothes” was a part of a compilation album made by Greensleeves Records titled “Heatwave” and was released in 2001. The single was well received in Jamaica and in many parts of the world and was one of many for the Prophet. “Forward Inna Dem Clothes” was also sampled by American Rapper/Producer Kanye West for his “I Am A God” track of his 6th album “Yeezus“.
Since his single, he has released a slew of hits that not only charted in Jamaica but also other parts of the world and has enabled him to tour far and wide to spread his “Message Music“. Just recently Capleton performed many of his hits at Usain Bolt’s Tracks and Records as a part of the “Behind The Screen” concert series and was well received by patrons. Looking forward to more hits by the “Fire Man“.
Thank You Capleton for this song. Blaze it!
