Lifestyle Blogger ShannyDeLioness is back for another week of “Mixtape Rave“! This week she serves you an array of Mixtapes she’s been feeling over the past 7 days. If you missed the 1st installment, check it out here.
DJ Charlotte is one of Trinidad & Tobago’s hottest DJs. This release coincided with the 2016 YUMA Carnival Band launch for Trinidad Carnival and it is a sweet mix indeed. The perfect confectionary of Soca, Dancehall, Hip Hop and Top 40 hits. Released 2 Months ago on her Sound Cloud, it is a favourite for me!

Those who know me well know that I love EDM as much as I love Soca and Dancehall! Barbados’ finest (To me definitely), DJ Puffy goes in hard with this EDM mix. I literally feel like I am at Tomorrowland or some other huge EDM festival just listening to this high energy mix.

Taking it back to yard (never stray far from my roots)this time around, this mixtape showcases the talents of 2 members of one of Jamaica’s hottest Sound Systems, Chromatic. This mix of some of the hottest Top 40, Hip Hop and Dancehall hits and numerous Dub samples is an eargasmic treat.

One of Jamaica’s hottest female artistes, Tifa goes hard on this mixtape. She blew me out of the water with her lyrical prowess. Haters be warned because if this mixtape is a preview of her 2016 work, Miss T.I.F.A will be bringing the fire! Thank you 13th Street Promotions for this find!

Hip Hop straight from the West Coast! You won’t believe this mix was produced when J.A.Y.P was only 17! Raw Hip Hop lyrics on refixed classic R&B beats reminiscent of a time when Hip Hop was more about the lyrics than the gimmicks. My favourite track is #12 “Sit Back” featuring Worm.
32 of the Gaza Boss’ hottest bad man songs found their way on this mix by DJ Fearless out of the UK. If you are a fan of Kartel’s bad man songs like me, you will enjoy this mixtape.

Another YouTube find (I live on there by the way), this mixtape is a part of DJ Nazty Nage’s “Road Ready” Mix series, serves 1 hour and 24 minutes of Grenada’s top Soca hits from the Carnival season. I actually discovered Grenadian Soca thanks to a friend from the B.V.I and though it is more fast paced than what I am used to, it has still found its way into my heart (song #4 is actually my ring tone).

Last week, I introduced my favourite Crop Over mix and this week I feature my second favourite. This compilation of every single Crop Over 2015 entry is a crash course in Bajan Soca Music. Imagine, I had no idea Busy Signal and Konshens even had a Crop Over single (#11 on this mix “Soca People” on the King Kong Riddim) until I stumbled upon this mixtape. Another in DJ Nazty Nage’s “Road Ready” Mix series.
