2024 was a year, and it’s almost over. However, we can’t let it go without recognizing those who took big steps this year for their creativity and brand. There were more viral moments, and some controversial moments, but we expect even more for 2025. Remember growing up on Disney cartoons? Well, for Rajahwild’s “Trophy Front“, the timeless “The Beauty & The Beast” was the inspiration for his Music Video. While members of the public interpreted this as Rajahwild endorsing Satan with his makeup, others saw through the controversial takes, and saw a beautiful Woman being captivated by the beastly character. Ruppi of Now Or Never handled the direction for this one.

2024 was a year of revelations, exposure, triumphs, and improvements. In the Jamaican music scene, a number of Artists scored big and expanded on their brands, while others started to decline. For Dancehall crooner Nigy Boy, who has been on the scene for a number of years, he enjoyed his biggest year in music. He started off the year strong, secured degrees and accolades, and ended it on a high. We commend Nigy’s ascension, and we highlight his best year with a new Playlist.

We invite you to tune in to a display of an Artist who never let his disability hinder him from success, became the “Most Improved Player“, and he has a lot more to conquer. With Nigy Boy’s knack for delivering tunes about being the Ladies Man, “The Blind Casanova” Playlist highlights his 2024 hits that definitely built his female fanbase, and shines a spotlight on his songwriting skills. From “Continental” to “Karma” to “Old Gyalis“, you can’t deny Nigy’s presence in Jamaican music. The Grenadian bad boy V’ghn has been blazing trails for a number of years, and he’s only getting better. With a renewed focus for the new year, he’s preparing to give the people hit after hit. It’s his season to shine, and he gets things going with the new single, “Bacchanal Lady“.

Teaming up with Producer Tano, V’ghn has his eyes on a dangerously sexy Woman in “Bacchanal Lady”. She has the looks, she oozes sexiness, and she’s scandalous, but if you treat her right, she’ll be all yours. V’ghn pelts out melodies and lyrics over some solid production as he thinks about the waistline of this desirable Woman. The track has the right ingredients for a hit, and we can expect this one to make some noise all 2025. The accompanying Visualizer finds the Singer mesmerized by her throughout, and this is just the beginning of some fun times to come. This goes out to all the sexy ladies!

OLDIES SUNDAY: The Mighty Clouds – Syne Dub (1975)

It’s the final “Oldies Sunday” post of 2024! Firstly, thanks for the support of this segment, and we look forward to producing more come 2025. With New Year’s Day around the corner, we see it fit give you something in recognition of the upcoming day. We go back to nearly 50 years ago with The Mighty Clouds Band’s “Syne Dub“.

Released through the Mid-Night and Black Ark Sound labels in 1975, “Syne Dub” was an Instrumental release for The Mighty Clouds Band. The track was a dub version of the popular “Auld Lang Syne” New Year’s Day song, and the b-side to Reggae Singer Leon Hyatt’s song of the same name. The mix of Percussion, Horns, Keys, and Bass come together well, and will put all the listeners in a dancing vibe throughout. Sometimes all you need is the Riddim to get you going.

Joshua Regrello Aims For The Guinness World Record With Steelpan Marathon

The Caribbean continues to set trends, and create history. For Trini Pan Artist Joshua “D Pan Man” Regrello, he eyes an accomplishment that will definitely be one for the history books. On Friday December 27 at 6:28 am, he began his attempt at setting the record for the world’s longest marathon-playing Pan Artist.

Joshua Regrello is attempting to play Pan with his crew for 30 hours, a feat that has not been done before. With members of the Guinness World Record team in attendance along with fans and supporters, Joshua and his band have been playing tune after tune, letting the sweet steel pan ring out through speakers for the world to hear. The performance is currently being held at the Wack 90.1 FM studio, and you can tune in to see history.

Top Banks Aims For Riches On “Boy Yah Ediat”

2024 has been a money year for a number of people, including Mandeville-based Dancehall Artist Top Banks. Whether you find him in the streets, on a stage near you, or on TikTok, Banks is making the moves where possible, and entertaining the people along the way. For a number of weeks, he was previewing a track called, “Boy Yah Ediat” on Social Media, but earlier he premiered the official Music Video.

Directed by Kreative Klique, Top Banks is enjoying the nightlife in the visual for “Boy Yah Ediat”. Over production by DJ Mac, Banks gives the people some motivation in order to secure the bag, and he’s not letting anyone nor anything stop his mission. The video also featured an appearance by emerging Video Vixen, Zho, who has been showing up in a number of visuals this year. 2024 has been a big year for Top Banks, and thanks to the release of “Fat Ride & Nuh House” and “Nuh Seh Suh Man” with X-Kappe, his profile has grown significantly along with his presence on TikTok. It’s money season all 2025.
