Yannick Paul Shares A Life Changing Story On “Kvrtel CD”

For those who know, and those who don’t, Dancehall Artist Vybz Kartel will be launching his highly-anticipated “Freedom StreetConcert next week. With the year he and his fans have been experiencing, 2024 will be ending in a big way. For people like Gospel Artist Yannick Paul, he remembers the days when he would be front and center for the latest single from the Deejay. Life has changed since then, but he wants to share a story about his “Kvrtel CD“.

The story starts off in 2005 where a young Yannick Paul discovers a Vybz Kartel mixtape at a friend’s house. He would then steal it, and the story continues with him enjoying content from, and becoming a fan of a Dancehall Artist who would gradually become one of Jamaica’s top acts. During that time, Yannick was dealing with having a music career of his own, and a life that wasn’t Christlike. He admits that the music made an influence on his life then, and the same can be said for others, but things began to shift for him over the years, and life as a Christian took over, putting the Kartel music and influence on the back burner. He closes off his song with a message to Vybz Kartel, with the hopes that he gives a welcoming ear to it. “Kvrtel CD” is the follow up to “November“, which shares Yannick’s life changing story that happened over 10 years ago. 2025 will find him continuing to spread the word.

Ziggy Marley and The Melody Makers on Sesame Street on 13thStreetPromotions.com #Jamaica #Reggae #Music #13thStreetPromotions #ZiggyMarley #ZiggyMarleyandTheMelodyMakers #Jahmekya #SmallPeople #SesameStreet #PrairieDawn #BigBird #1991 #SesameWorkshop #Caribbean

THROWBACK: @ZiggyMarley & The Melody Makers Perform On Sesame Street (1991)

How many of you remember Sesame Street? For those who do, do you remember what it was like growing up, especially in the Caribbean, watching and learning from that program? We loved our times with Big Bird, Oscar The Grouch, Ernie and Bert, Telly The Monster, Grover, and Elmo. For over 54 years, Sesame Street has been the platform that aided in the development of many children, promoted education, equality, unity, and love, and did so with the help of many characters, and forms of content. Recently, it was announced that the program was dropped from the HBO/Max streaming platform, and is currently seeking a home to continue airing. We hope that situation gets taken care of soon, as there are generations of children who need this important program in their life. You can do your part in keeping Sesame Street afloat, but we tell you how below as we highlight Reggae Artist Ziggy Marley, who made numerous appearances on the program.

In the early 1990s, Ziggy Marley and The Melody Makers made an appearance on Sesame Street. Recording Artists and Musicians are no stranger to the program, but the young Marley band provided a musical number for an episode in season 23. The segment, which mainly featured the character Prairie Dawn, who was sad about being small. Performing the hit single “Small People“, Ziggy and his siblings provided some positive words and sounds, highlighting that even the smallest person can make a big impact. “Small People” was featured on the GRAMMY-nominated 1991 album, “Jahmekya“. Ziggy would go on to make more appearances on the program over the years, including on a number of spinoffs.

Sesame Street’s place on TV is being threatened with the loss of the deal with HBO/Max, and we hope that the right platforms do what’s needed to keep it on the air. You can do your part in supporting Sesame Street by making donations to the Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit organization that helps with educating children, and providing resources that aid with growing smarter, healthier, helpful, and joyful. Funds from donations provide learning material, supplies, and much more for children around the world. The holidays may be over, but you can give a gift today by clicking here.

When the holidays come around, many look forward to reuniting with loved ones, and making memories together. On the other side of the coin, there are many who mourn the absence of loved ones. Whether they’re lost through breakups or death, the holidays hit hard for some. For UK Artist Konan of Krept & Konan, not having certain loved ones around is painful. On “Delroy’s Son“, he has a conversation with one very special person.

In a video co-directed by Konan and Don Prod, Konan pulls up to have a conversation with his late Father, Delroy Wilson in “Delroy’s Son”. The video starts with Konan visiting his Father’s community, then sharing some words at memorial service, and during a Therapy session. He expresses how life is without his Father and how much he means to him, but shares that he has found success for himself, gives him his flowers, and assures that he will do in part in continuing the Wilson legacy. For those unfamiliar, Konan is the youngest son of Delroy Wilson, who was Jamaica’s first child star, and a legend in Ska, Reggae, and Rocksteady. Wilson was known for the hits, “Have Some Mercy“, “Better Must Come“, “Cool Operator“, “The Last Thing On My Mind“, and a cover of The Wailers’I’m Still Waiting“. “Delroy’s Son” is featured on Krept & Konan’s “Young Kingz 2“, which will be released on February 7, 2025. Long live Delroy Wilson.
