They usually say “a child shall lead the way“, and today young Recording Artist Layla-Rei will do just that with her new single. While she showed us that you have to aim high and put in the work on her debut single, she now encourages us to have “Ambition“! Released through her Mother Raine Seville’s Seville Records, Layla borrows the legendary Bam Bam Riddim from Sly Dunbar and Robbie Shakespeare and drops some words that we all need to hear with her proud Mama helping out throughout the song. Whether you’re 2 months or 99 years old, ambition is something that we should all have in order to achieve greatness in life. Layla-Rei gets to work in the video playing various roles, and this was made possible through the efforts of Michael McLeish, and Rockwildaz who handled directing and editing duties. Though he hails from Portmore, Jahbariii currently resides in the US and blends Jamaican influences in his sound along with Hip Hop. What caught our attention, was his knack for recreating popular beats and coming up with some unique productions from sometimes odd places. Shout it out from the hills and every house top that Mavado is here with some heat! Since his debut in the 2000’s, the “Gully Gad” has been working hard to seal his place as one of the best Dancehall Artists to touch the mic. While there were feuds and many detractors, he puts his foot on the speaker box and unleashes the “Dancehall Prophecy“! With Justus Arison controlling the production on the soon to be released Time Machine Riddim, Mavado puts his heart into this song as he speaks on some of his trials and rising above the adversities, coming from nothing and seeing success on another level, doing a lot for Dancehall, and staying on top of his game despite those who wish his demise and try to stop him from taking care of his family. The video accompanying the track shows Mavado linking with some of the best including performing with DJ Khaled, seeing fans from a various parts of the world enjoy his music, and highlighting the loved ones he puts his all for. Today, she unleashed the visual for the song that has been getting a lot of attention lately, “Overcome” off Lee Milla’s “Legacy Riddim“. Directed by BiggzShip for MALESS Films, Tifa belts out lyrics about her trials and tribulations, and encourages listeners to trust in GOD as he’ll take care of everything. Go get your refund from the Obeah man, and cancel all your plans of evil, it’s not gonna work. Who Jah bless, no man can curse. This song should’ve been a bonus track on Tifa’s “Curry Goat & Champagne” album, but if you haven’t yet, cop both of them on iTunes (here and here) and make it the bonus.
