Armanii Is Ready For Whatever In “Pan A Shot”

Dancehall Artist Armanii ensured that he had the ladies singing for the better part of this year, but he still has to make something for the streets. Having one of the year’s biggest singles is no easy feat, and he has been rewarded well for it, and secured plenty bookings. Recently he took his talents to Canada for live performances, but took the time out to put together a Music Video for the new track, “Pan A Shot“.

Directed by The Knemesis, Armanii stays posted with the crew, and is ready for whatever in the “Pan A Shot” visual. In a time when the opps can be right around the corner, one has to be prepared to handle situations. Produced by Prod.Carter for Slingerz Records, “Pan A Shot” looks to gain popularity on Social Media, and make way for more hits for the Deejay this year. Ever heard a Rifle sing?

Grampa Entatain & Dr. Planks Remix A Vybz Kartel Hit In “Food Specialist”

We all love food, some more than others, but there’s nothing like a meal that’s yours to enjoy. Whatever your style and taste, food has been there more than people in some cases. Food is enjoyed on a different level according to Dancehall Entertainer Grampa Entatain, and he talks about it in, “Food Specialist“.

Featuring Dr. Planks, it’s all about the good food in Grampa Entatain’s “Food Specialist”. Grampa enjoys a variety of food while Planks leans more into the Ital way of life, but they know what’s important when it comes to putting in work in the Kitchen, and they and whoever they feed will be satisfied. For those unfamiliar, “Food Specialist” is a remix of Vybz Kartel and Beenie Man’s 2004 hit, “Breast Specialist“. The track was produced by Tony Matterhorn and Mario C on the “Scoobay Riddim“, and is given new life in 2024 thanks to Grampa Entatain. The track is accompanied by a Music Video directed by Clevamix Recordz, and it finds the Artists cheffing up a number of dishes, and feeding the household in the end. Grampa Entatain has been active with a number of original music and remixes over the years, and has been a hit whenever he’s called up to perform. This one is for the foodies. Speaking of foodies, get familiar with “Where’s The Food, Jo” for some recommendations.

.@1RealMoulaUE Returns To Rap With “Floormats”

The Hip Hop culture continues to have some life in Jamaica, with many contributors and new styles. One contributor returns to the fold, and that is Montego Bay-based Rapper MoulaUE. Having taken time off for family and life outside of the Studio, he looks to make a mark in the 2020s, and show that he still has what it takes. He concluded his hiatus with the track, “Floormats“.

Produced by Limitless Joe, MoulaUE proves that despite taking a leave of absence, his skillset hasn’t left in “Floormats”. The “Mobay Mayor” gives a nod to some of his peers, and gives listeners a dose of what has been missing for a while. During his absence there was a rise in the Trap Dancehall movement, and we believe he can still secure a place in the scene as Montego Bay is home to many of the stars of the movement. The bars are still solid, and he can command any production that’s sent his way. We hope he maintains the consistency this time around. MoulaUE returns to Rap.

OLDIES SUNDAY: @IvyQueenDiva – Quiero Bailar (2003)

September 15 marks the start of “Hispanic Heritage Month” in the United States. The month recognizes the contributions and influence of Hispanic Americans from entertainment, to sports, to pop culture. Today on Oldies Sunday, we highlight one of those contributors. Her name is Ivy Queen, known as the “Queen Of Reggaeton” who hails from Puerto Rico, and her track is called, “Quiero Bailar (I Want To Dance)“.

Produced by Iván Joy and Jeremy Harding and released through Universal Music Latino in 2003, Ivy Queen made a powerful move with “Quiero Bailar”. The song speaks of a Woman who dances with a Man, but he misinterprets her sensual moves as an invitation to sleep with her. She emphasizes that that isn’t the case, and she shouldn’t be looked on as a promiscuous Woman. She wants to have fun, and not be added to a Man’s list or roster. “Quiero Bailar” sampled Harding’s “Liquid Riddim“, which was released in 2001, and borrows a cadence from Missy Elliott’sAll N My Grill” from 1999 (which was also borrowed by Dancehall Artist Chino, who has a song called “Hold Yuh Man” on the Liquid Riddim). The Reggaeton release was first featured on the Reggaeton Compilations “The Majestic 2“, and “Kilates“, and enjoyed success on those projects before being included in the Platinum Edition of Ivy’s “Diva” album, which was released in 2004.

“Quiero Baliar” enjoyed success as it became the first Spanish-language track to go #1 on Miami’s WPOW Rhythmic Top 40 chart, scored Billboard chart placements, and became an anthem for Women’s Empowerment. “Quiero Bailar” was covered by Puerto Rican Rapper Dlaklle, Recording artist Abaya, Boricua Boys, was sampled by Ecuadorian Singer Sophy Mell, and Chilean Singer Paloma Mami, was remixed with Reggaeton Artist Karol G, and was re-recorded in 2019 with a Female-led team of Engineers in partnership with Spotify, and released on International Women’s Day.

Since the release of “Quiero Bailar”, Ivy Queen went on to release more music to much success, and is still active. She has influenced a number of Artists, and has made major contributions to Reggaeton, and the Hispanic American culture. “Quiero Bailar” remains one of her most recognized tracks.
