Singer Elise Dash returns to the scene with new music! While she has been staying busy these past few months with her various stage performances, Elise has been ensuring that her name covers a lot of ground with her vocals leaving behind tracks. Still on a mission to be a permanent fixture in your Playlists and speakers, we check out the new single, “Waiting“.

Produced by Kasadie Jones of Caspa Productions, Elise Dash delivers smooth vocals, and shows off her songwriting as she seeks her “Rude boy” to take over her life. We hope he doesn’t keep her waiting too long. Elise Dash brings a unique sound to the scene, and she is just scratching the surface of her abilities. We can’t wait to see what she’ll do next. Today’s new music entry is dedicated to the praying Mothers, Grandmothers, Aunts, Sisters, and every Woman who is the backbone in many families. Reggae/Dancehall Artist Bugle continues to deliver solid, conscious, and positive messages in every release, and today we hope this one connects with you strongly. Today, we get to check out “Prayer & Fasting“.

Produced by EastKings Records and featuring Recording Artist Imeru Tafari, son of Reggae Artist Queen Ifrica, Bugle shares a few words of caution for his listeners. The road may be rocky, but life is everlasting. Bugle and Imeru give thanks for the Matriarchs who have prayed without ceasing for their safety, for guidance along their respective paths, and for blessings to shower them daily. There’s nothing like Mama’s love, and the love of God. Accompanying the new single, is a music video directed by Swag TV Filmz, and it features a few cameo appearances, and a great visual showcasing unity. Something that is needed in these times.

On May 27, the popular Netflix series “Stranger Things” premiered its 4th season. The series finds a group of kids experiencing various supernatural beings and events in 1980s Indiana. The new season was highly anticipated, and has been one of Netflix’s most watched products. While season 4 highlights plenty 80s aesthetic, the soundtrack also highlights some of the hits from that decade. One of the hits however, is a Reggae classic.

In episodes 4 and 6 of “Stranger Things” season 4, British boy band Musical Youth’s 1982 hit, “Pass The Dutchie” was featured. Produced by Peter Collins, this is a song about facing extreme poverty. This song was redone version of the Mighty Diamonds’ hit “Pass The Kutchie. More info on the track can be found here. The single has been been a historic one as it helped with Musical Youth being the first black group to have appeared in a Studio segment on MTV. We previously highlighted the track being featured in a South Park episode.

As we come to a close of the month of May being “Child’s Month“, we’d like to highlight one more star whose career started in their youth. Today’s Oldies Sunday selection comes from Soca Legend Machel Montano with the track, “Too Young To Soca“!

Produced by Eddy Grant and released in 1986 through the Ice Label, this song featured Machel Montano at the age of 9. With high energy production, Machel commanded the track with the prowess of a veteran. He expressed his love for Soca Music, and dared to defied people’s opinions of his being too young to Soca. He wants to sing, he wants to jam, so let him be! “Too Young To Soca” quickly catapulted Machel Montano to stardom, and opened up a lane for him to enjoy a career that has spanned well over 30 years. “Too Young To Soca” was featured on his 1985 4 track album of the same name.

As the month comes to an end, we’d like to ask all the parents or soon to be parents one thing, please protect the children! There are so many kids with promise and potential, and society finds a way to shatter their hopes and aspirations. Protect the yutes!

In case you didn’t know, Sean Paul is back with a brand new album called, “Scorcha“! The follow up to the GRAMMY nominated “Live N Livin” album, Sean is on a path to take over the International market once again with his brand of Dancehall music. With a few singles out for the just released album, Sean boasts a few prominent features on there, including Shenseea and Gwen Stefani as they join him on the track, “Light My Fire“.

Produced by Jigzag, KooolKojak and AC, Sean Paul takes care of raising the temperature for the ladies on Light My Fire”. Over a production that taps into some old school sounds, you might find yourself skanking, or slow wining with your partner to this.
