The track finds her reflecting on a lover from her past, and focuses on self-worth, emphasizing that she is the most desirable, and doesn’t to fight to prove that she is quite the catch. Earlier this year, she gained popularity for her Dess Dior-featured single, “Favourite Girl“. The track sampled the classic “Diwali Riddim” by Lenky Marsden, and the single has been getting heavy airplay around the world. Keeping the momentum going, she follows up with the “Favourite Girl (Remix)“.

Featuring Nigerian Singer/Rapper Rema, Darkoo continues with the vibes on “Favourite Girl (Remix)”. With a music video shot by JM Films, they take it to the club where it’s a sea of party goers, and lots of thrilling times. The 16 track album taps into various topics that are relatable to the listener, and sounds including Dancehall, Afrobeats, Jazz, Pop Music, R&B, and Hip Hop that Coutain handles with ease. With every beat thrown his way, he delivers a product that becomes infectious to the listener, and he does them all effortlessly, lyrically, and melodically. If you listen carefully, he pays homage to some of the greats in his verses. Earlier this year, South African Recording Artist Tyla released her self-titled debut album. The album featured a number of collaborations including one with Dancehall Artist Skillibeng and ATL Rapper Gunna on a track called, “Jump“, and it has been receiving a lot of love. As the track continues to do well on streaming, Tyla follows it up with the release of the official Music Video.

Directed by Nabil and shot in Jamaica and Johannesburg, South Africa, Tyla gives us plenty to see in her video for, “Jump”. Tyla shares the screen with a number of dancers, Men who seek her affection, fellow South Africans and parts of their culture and everyday life, and Rapper Gunna. Skillibeng was unable to be present so his parts were shot in Jamaica, and features a number of familiar faces. Tyla continues to take her name to new platforms, and many look forward to see what’s next from her. Here’s to more Skillibeng collaborations as well as he has been on fire internationally, and Gunna continues to rise despite a few low points in his life.

In case you didn’t know, we’re still in “Cruff SZN“. King Cruff emphasized in our recent feature that he will release more music this year, and before you know it, there will be an album available. Still reaching out to new territories and ears, he has been finding success with “FallBack“, and “LINGO“, and now he’s taking the vibes to North America with, “Toronto Condo Girls“.

Produced by Circa Eleven and Tessellated and featuring Solo YT, King Cruff continues his journey in making music that will stand out. The Artists share their adventures in the big city, the Women they’ve come across, and overall secured another collab over solid production that will be on repeat. Cruff and Solo recently shared their “LINGO” collaboration that has been doing well, so “Toronto Condo Girls” will be another one for the books (Can we expect a collab EP from them?). A lot can happen in the big city, just be careful of the people you interact with.

Valiant Makes Major Label Debut With “Flava” Single

Dancehall Artist Valiant is on another level. The Deejay signed with Signal Records/Columbia Records and Epic UK last year, and has been elevating his game even more. The Deejay also secured a MOBO Award in February for “Best Caribbean Music Act“, and now makes his major label debut with the single, “Flava“.

Produced by GuiltyBeatz, Valiant is all about living the good life and doing things in a big way on “Flava”. With his strong presence in Dancehall, the Deejay looks to make this Summer his with the Afrobeats-tinged production. The year already found him burning up the scene with a number of singles including “Lumbah“, “Love Problem“, and “Bubble Gum“, and he is not letting the energy die down no matter what. In a PR statement released through Signal Records, he shared, “Flava is about living large, chasing that paper and staying true to yourself. When I hit the studio for this one, I wanted to capture that vibe of ambition and confidence, and I think we nailed it. Flava is like an anthem for anyone hustling and grinding to make it big.“.
