Top Banks Officially Releases “Fat Ride & Nuh House”

“Fat ride and no house…” was a sound you’d hear on Social Media for weeks, and you couldn’t escape it. The creator of that sound was Manchester-based Dancehall Artist Top Banks as he was working on new music, and was testing the waters with his audience. The sound evolved into Comedy skits, a new way of life for some, and opened the floor for many, many discussions online about what is more important, getting the car or house first. Nonetheless, many awaited the official song to be made and released, and earlier today, Top Banks made that possible. Check out, “Fat Ride & Nuh House“.

Produced by Antuwang Music, Top Banks plays with the idea of car over property in “Fat Ride & Nuh House”. The “Choppa” lifestyle is a very lucrative one for those who practice it, and some have chosen to spend their earnings as a reflection of “living in the moment“, rather than investing for the long term. Whether it’s the new car, clothes, vacations, temporary residence, or Women, some believe that tomorrow may never come, so spend it all today. In the Kreative Klique-directed Music Video, Top Banks takes on the Mandeville streets in a flashy ride and parties it up, but when he calls it a night, the same flashy ride is his Bed & Breakfast, Kitchen, and sleeping quarters. With the official release of “Fat Ride & Nuh House”, the sound will have a little more life to live on Social Media, and in the day to day society.

You know how the badness go. Harlem-based Rapper/Actor Dave East is gearing up for an eventful Summer. With a new project called, “APT 6E” on the horizon, he’s giving the people a taste of what’s to come with a number of singles. One of the singles that will peak the listener’s interest is the track called, “Dangerous Riddum“.

Produced by Mike & Keys, DJ Khalil, AC, and Dan Seeff and featuring Jamaican Music legend Shaggy, Dave East lets the listeners know on “Dangerous Riddum” that the streets can get dangerous, but he is aware of what’s going down at all times. He keeps the peace, but has a piece nearby, and a radar for when the Law is tracking him down. Shaggy steps forward with a few choice words himself, letting you know that he can be the nice guy with the multitude of hits, but if you cross him, it nah go nice. The combination of Dave East and Shaggy may be odd to some, but it works. East previously worked with the likes of Junior Reid and Popcaan, and has always made a connection with his Caribbean side (Barbados and Dominican Republic). A lil bit of melody, some New York and Jamaican badness, and a tune that will be making its rounds leading up to the release of East’s forthcoming project. NPT!

Earlier this year, South African Recording Artist Tyla released her self-titled debut album. The album featured a number of collaborations including one with Dancehall Artist Skillibeng and ATL Rapper Gunna on a track called, “Jump“, and it has been receiving a lot of love. As the track continues to do well on streaming, Tyla follows it up with the release of the official Music Video.

Directed by Nabil and shot in Jamaica and Johannesburg, South Africa, Tyla gives us plenty to see in her video for, “Jump”. Tyla shares the screen with a number of dancers, Men who seek her affection, fellow South Africans and parts of their culture and everyday life, and Rapper Gunna. Skillibeng was unable to be present so his parts were shot in Jamaica, and features a number of familiar faces. Tyla continues to take her name to new platforms, and many look forward to see what’s next from her. Here’s to more Skillibeng collaborations as well as he has been on fire internationally, and Gunna continues to rise despite a few low points in his life.
