Producer/Recording Artist/Videographer Kris Karz was away for a while, and now he’s back with new content from his “Kngly Live” Imprint. Having released a series of Vlogs, viewers get to see some behind the scenes stuff, and everyday happenings in Kris’ life. In his latest Vlog he gets into Cable management and BTS production, and he lets us in on a song he made. Inspired by the Donald Glover, Letitia Wright, and Rihanna starred “Guava Island“, Kris Karz takes us from idea, to creation of the beats and lyrics, to the finished product. How did he do? For years they have been in the Entertainment business making skits, creating music, and assisting the careers of some of your favourite Artists. Now with the “A Waste Of Time” Podcast series, they’ve shared the room with many personalities and brought a unique side to Interviews. Recently, Recording Artist Shenseea made an appearance with the brothers in the Upper West Side, NY to talk about her upbringing, meeting Jay Z, dropping out of University, covering songs, working with Romeich Entertainment, reconnecting with her older brother, “Blessed” and her new Record deal, doing an Interview high off Weed edibles, and more!

The word “Bayo” comes from the Yoruba language meaning “She brings us joy“. Today, Code Red Sound Selector DJ Lank will assist in the joy you will receive this summer with the release of his first official production, the “Bayo Riddim“! Described as “A modern version of that old time Jamaican, Poco Man Skank type of vibe“, Lank promises that the Bayo Riddim will be one of your 2019 favourites, and will have the world dancing up a storm. With Artists like Tifa, Beenie Man, I-Octane, ZJ Liquid, Coppershot Cutty, Blak Diamon, Chris Dymond, and Medikk having singles on the Riddim, expect these to turn into mainstream hits, and increase the vibes wherever the party is!

With a career starting in High School, DJ Lank has been providing the sound at various events locally and Internationally for many years. Whether he’s selecting alongside his Code Red Sound family or handling business solo, Lank never fails in getting the people moving and enjoying themselves. Having released a project with International Recording Artist Gyptian recently, DJ Lank felt the time was right to get the “Bayo Riddim” out in the streets, and looks forward to feedback from listeners. While you can find him at your favourite events this summer, Lank promises there will be more Riddims for you to enjoy.

Do you own Airpods? Neat lil things aren’t they? In promotion of one of Apple’s most popular devices, they released a Commercial today called “Bounce“. While they show off the versatility of the “pods”, we’re treated to the sounds of Recording Artist/Producer Tessellated (featured in one of our Producers to know articles) whose 2016 “I Learn’t Some Jazz Today” was the Commercial’s soundtrack! Featuring a sample of Jamaican born/US based Masego’s “YOU GON’ LEARN SOME JAZZ TODAY“, it’s only right you enjoy hearing this through your Airpods. For those unfamiliar, Tessellated was one of the featured acts on the popular single, “Pine & Ginger“!

It nah go nice unless Jamaicans are on it! Recently, Recording Artist Ed Sheeran has been blessing listeners with new music, namely his upcoming “No. 6 Collaborations Project“. One of the tracks that is doing its rounds is his collab with Justin Bieber titled, “I Don’t Care“. Today, Chronixx and Koffee combine their powers to deliver us a remix! While they give us that Dancehall Reggae vibes, Chronixx and Koffee basically own the song as Ed and Justin are left to just give us the chorus. Expect this one to make a lot of noise this summer. If she loves you like Keyshia loves Guwop, then it’s real. While Ed Sheeran and Justin Biber dabbled in a lil Reggae and Dancehall in their careers, we’d love some proper Dancehall/Reggae collaborations in the future, and level the playing field. One complaint I have is, if you’re going to have Jamaicans on a pop track, at least make the Youtube link playable in Jamaica (This is BS).

We Look Back At Danny Browne’s “Filthy Riddim” In Our Throwback Playlist Series!

With Nicki Minaj’s “Megatron” single out and doing numbers, it’s only right you get a quick history lesson on the sample. Assisting with that, we go into Playlist mode and highlight the “Filthy Riddim” in our #13thStreetThrowback Playlist Series! The Riddim was released in 1998 and produced by Danny Browne for Mainstreet Records. It gave birth to some classics including Lady G.’s “Breeze Off“, Spragga Benz’s “She Nuh Ready Yet“, Mr. Vegas‘ “Heads High“, and General Degree’s “Traffic Blocking“.
