From working as a Security Guard to rolling with Beenie Man, Deejay Kantana wants to etch his name in the Dancehall books and the next big act. Tonight on Onstage, Kantana spoke on his background, being all about deejaying, trying to get a “buss” for 5 years, working with Beenie Man, and his new single/video “Smoke And Drink“. In some Dancehall circles you rarely hear people mentioning the “Doctor” giving any new artist any “buss” but it’s a new year so let’s see what 2015 has in store for Kantana. After breaking Internationally, Kranium has done what a few overseas based Dancehall acts have done. Now fresh off his big signing with Atlantic Records, he joins Winford Williams to speak on it and more. Here he spoke on the details of his multiple album deal, breaking internationally, thoughts on a follow up single, not feeling any pressure in his career, and more. He also performed for the Onstage audience. I believe Kranium has a few more hits up his sleeve, it’s only a matter of time before they drop. NEW MUSIC: @DavianahMusic – Music Madness

Aiming to break out of the monotony today is singer Davianah with her latest single. Titled “Music Madness” and produced by Mark “Genaral” Thompson for Thompson House Music, Davianah gets at artists who fail to bring more positive subject matter to their audience and break out of the continuous stream of sexually charged lyrics being played on the airwaves. She also warns that the youths are listening to them and they are not setting a great example for them to follow. Davianah delivers on this one as this is a song you should keenly listen to. While it is true many of us listen and enjoy the sexually charged lyrics, at times we must make room for more positive lyrics and guide the youth along the way. Don’t turn the music to madness. The invite promised the unveiling of “A match made in heaven where dreams come true” and @twentythree at J. Wray & Nephew’s Head Office served as the perfect backdrop to do just that. As you walked through the doors of the 23 Dominica Drive venue you sensed that you were about to witness “Something truly special” unfold before your very eyes. Media representatives and some of Kingston’s social, corporate and music influencers witnessed the truly special union of J. Wray & Nephew’s Appleton Rum Special and Jamaica’s premier summer getaway Dream Weekend. The official contract was signed by J. Wray & Nephew Marketing Manager Gary Dixon and Dream Entertainment Director Scott Dunn.

This year’s staging of the event will be dubbed “Appleton Special Dream Weekend: Rum Rules Paradise“. Below are some photos from the event, more will be featured on Facebook.com/13thStreetPromotions.
