Before there was Kabaka Pyramid the global Reggae artist with many thought provoking hits, there was Kabaka Pyramid the Rapper who could hit you with plenty bars with ease. While Hip Hop definitely influenced his Reggae career, seeing him collaborate with some of his faves gives us a proud feeling. Today, he joins LA Hip Hop artist R-Mean and the legendary Method Man of the Wu-Tang Clan on the track, “Circus“.

Produced by the legendary Scott Storch, the trio go bar for bar as they each show off their distinct style, and make it known that they have no time for clown business or anything that can tarnish their standards. We recall times where Kabaka Pyramid would freestyle or remix one of his songs over Wu-Tang Clan beats, and since then he has collaborated with members Raekwon and Method Man. Many may not understand it, but this collaboration is a big one. Big up Kabaka Pyramid, R-Mean, Method Man, and Scott Storch!

Hip Hop Artist Dave East has been one of the more consistent voices in the genre in the past few years, and has always delivered. With a slew of mixtapes, he has always had some tricks up his sleeve for the listening public. On his latest project, “Karma 3 (Deluxe)“, he tapped into his Caribbean side with collaborations from Jamaica’s own Popcaan, and the legendary Junior Reid.

On “Unruly” featuring Popcaan, Dave East and the Unruly Boss do some damage over the CitoOnTheBeat production. From Dave namedropping “Shottas“, Buju Banton, Vybz Kartel, and Super Cat, to dropping badness on the beat, to Popcaan delivering melodic lyrics, you can’t play this one on a low volume. On “Badness” featuring Junior Reid, Dave jumps on the Sool Got Hits and ATG Musick produced banger while Junior Reid gives us his signature sound that has stood the test of time. Both Popcaan and Junior Reid are no strangers to these collaborations, but it’s always a good time when they find themselves taking over an International artist’s track.

The release of his EP shows that he’s about business, and will not stop till he’s one of the top artists doing it. It has been a easy road, but he is determined to make it. The EP features production from Metro 17 and Riot Records. “Making this EP helped me realized that not everything will go your way, it doesn’t mean you should give up though. Always move forward regardless,” shared Rxp Flo. “I had lots of down time while working on this EP, but I was at my happiest when I was at the studio writing and recording. I made new friends along the way, but I’ve also seen people I considered friends show me their true colours. These experiences helped me put together a great project, and I wouldn’t change a thing because I was given lessons on patience, dedication, and learning to make my own moves.

The Jamaican Hip Hop movement is still growing, and we look forward to your support with these artists on the rise. Check out Rxp Flo’s “Trap Island” below, and share with a friend. Show us some love/follow us on Twitter and Instagram at @13thStreetPromo.
