As we are facing the closing hours of this Valentine Weekend, there’s nothing like the oldies to add a finishing touch. Today’s Oldies Sunday selection comes from Mark Myrie a.k.a. Buju Banton and it’s dedicated to all the lovers. Titled “Love Sponge” and produced by Buju for Gargamel Productions in 1997, we hear Buju making a dedication to his lover. He goes on to detail how much she means to him, when they’re together they enjoy each other’s company, they make great things happen, and when they’re apart he gets miserable. With Buju’s infectious delivery, choice lyrics and a great production, this song went on to become one of Buju’s biggest hits and a song that’s made for couples when it’s time for a slow dance.

In support of the Jamaica BobSled Team, a video and song was released recently. Titled “The Bobsled Song” and done by Sidney Mills, Jon Notar, and Groove Guild, we hear chants of “It’s Bobsled Time” and details of the Bob Sled run all while being treated to a 80s 8-Bit video game styled video. Great video here as many of us would remember playing 8-Bit video games on the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). It is also noted that this should be played everytime the Jamaica BobSled team performs a run as the song syncs with it. Go Jamaica for Sochi 2014! While many may not have a significant other, or a “Play date“, many might participate in some “Self Love“. Vindon’s newest single is not for those people. Titled “Self Love” and produced by SOS Dynamikz, Vindon lets his “BluRok Lady” know that he enjoys when she wines and touches herself and details all the other ways she entertains him. Today could not end without some Hip Hop love and Vindon made music for the folks who’ll be making some “Home Movies” later. Great effort, “Seeing Colours EP” coming soon.
