Karlon Edmondson a.k.a. KoneLives is a Jamaican Creative who strives that stand out with his work. Whether he’s producing for the likes of Akina Eman or Yanah, recording, modeling, or making Art, he finds his people who show an appreciation for it. Speaking of recording, he has since stepped into the lane of a Recording Artist. A few months ago, shared a demo of a track he was working on called, “Sweat“. Earlier this month, he officially released the single and Music Video.

Directed by Suzanna Missenberger and featuring Zoé who performs some Choreography that will keep you locked in, KoneLives is all about making the ladies feel the heat in, “Sweat”. The self-produced track sets the tone as Kone blends commanding lyrics with a vibe that will keep the repeat button busy, and the accompanying visual will find some practicing their inner Stripper in the bedroom, living room, or Gym. KoneLives kicks things off in an interesting way, and we can expect him to follow up with even more selections, just stay tuned. Get the towel, water bottle, and Stripper pole ready.

Songbird Akina Eman returns to the scene with something special for her listeners. When it’s time for her to be creative, everything else is a non-factor, and she’s locked in until her work is done. She made some releases earlier this year, but now she has something packaged for you to enjoy. This gift, is called “Slumber Tapes“.

“Slumber Tapes” is Akina Eman’s latest EP, and she provides 5 tracks for the listener to get lost in. She still holds you hostage with her soothing vocals, and they take control of the lyrics she delivers throughout about love. Some will experience this project like embracing the warmth of someone who they’re deeply in love with, others will treat it like a pillow talk session that never ends. Production on “Slumber Tapes” is mainly handled by Kone, expect for one track by Kalex of Island Wav. No features here, just Akina live and direct for you. While outside is getting colder and darker, let this new EP provide some cozy comfort through it all.

The duo of Jamaican artists KinDah and Dash D make up the Friday Night Cru. No stranger to the Blog, the group has been working its way up to becoming a prominent name in the new generation of artists on the Island. With influences ranging from Jazz to Dancehall to Hip Hop, they have resulted in unique tracks that helped to boost the group’s profile and following. Looking for another banger, FNC released, “Look At Your Body (LAYB)“.

Produced by Harry Hunt and featuring fellow Jamaican artists Zac Jone$ and PRG Kid, we get a Trap-Hall track by the Cru that should get you moving during this “Holiday Stay Inside Party” season. Don’t Have @Yanah_I Waiting In Limbo, So “Think Again” And Come Correct!

The summer is usually a time for some to kick off “Cuffing Season“, while others are free to do whatever, but some are still going through it as they’ve lost a lover. Yanah comes through with a song that may trigger some feelings in those in the latter. Teaming up with Kone, she drops “Think Again“! While it’s never easy when breakups happen, Yanah paints the picture of a couple where the young lady compares her love, emotions, and energy to data, and transferring them into her former partner’s life’s hard drive would be a part of their bond. She feels there’s still some connection as some hard drives are never fully erased. Her system is still being affected by traces of their bond, and she believes he’s affected too, despite them going their separate ways. A song that many can relate to, Yanah is just a vessel for many who are going through it. The song samples the classic “Queen Majesty” from Jamaican Recording Artist Pat Kelly while he was a member of The Techniques.

While Yanah has been handling life outside the Studio, she looks to make a few appearances in the coming weeks to treat your ears to some great music. She’s currently booked to appear at the upcoming Fi Di Culture Live event, and she has plans to release more music for the rest of the year.

Closing out Black History Month and Reggae Month, one of our favourite Recording Artists Yanah emerges with new music for 2019! A song that’ll wake you up, she releases “The Root“! Produced by Kone, Yanah celebrates Melanin and the Mother Divine, reminds us all that we are Kings and Queens, and we should always remember where we’re coming from. Know yourself and your history, never let them white wash your brain! Accompanying the new music is a visual brought to us by C. Mills Art with Creative Direction by Kimberley Irons (will update you on that later). With so many having identity crises and those facing terrible situations because of their skin colour, you need songs like this to bring folks together and enforce a new level of consciousness. A Time Capsule is usually defined as a cache of historical goods and information which are beneficial to those who are into digging up areas and learning about a time before us. Today, “Time Capsule” is the name of Singer Yanah and Producer Kone’s latest collaboration. Featuring some pretty trippy production, Yanah sends a message from the future to the lover she has yet to meet. Though short at 1:29, you’ll find love every time you replay this! Featured in our “Female Artists To Watch Out For In 2018” Article, Yanah is taking her time sprinkling the Internet with new music. Stay tuned for a premiere.
