UK-based Recording Artist Mahalia is in album mode, and she’s getting busy. She started the year with a collaboration with Lila Ike that has been bubbling up, and many wondered what her next move would be. She has a few tricks up her sleeve, and she unleashes the follow up single, “Different Type Of Love“.

Produced by J.L.L., Dave Nunes, and FS Green, Mahalia calls up Masicka for her new “Different Type Of Love” single. The Singer has her eyes on this Man, and she shares her time with him that is nothing like she has experienced before. Whether she’s under the influence or just lovestruck, she is enjoying every second of it. Masicka, though here for a short time on the track, adds some Dancehall vibes over the production, and will have fans yearning for an extended version between these two Artists. Mahalia goes 2/2 on Dancehall collaborations this year (3/3 if you count her collab with Bayka). what will she do for her next move? Stay tuned!

British Songbird Mahalia has been busy. From recording new music, to taking the stage in various parts of the world, she has been taking care of business. Sometimes the road can be stressful, and one must find some time to unwind. For her, she likes to sweat the stress away, and you’ll see her get to it in the video for, “Pick Up The Pace“.

Directed by Ben Cole, Mahalia takes it to the Gym for a number of activities in “Pick Up The Pace”. From Weight Training, to Boxing, she is staying in shape, and looking good doing it all. “Pick Up The Pace” was produced by Zimi Records, and features Dancehall Artist Bayka, whose presence was felt, despite not appearing in the video. Expect a new project from Mahalia in 2025, and if you haven’t been keeping up with her music, you better pick up the pace. She scores a knockout with this one.

Recently, UK Recording Artist Mahalia released her Burna Boy featured single, “Simmer“. Today, we show respect to the sample. Going into Playlist Mode yet again, we look back at the “Playground Riddim” in our #13thStreetThrowback Playlist Series! The Riddim was released in 1997 and produced by Jeremy Harding for his 2 Hard Label. It birthed the classics “Nike Air” by Mr. Vegas, “Pet & Pamper” by Mad Cobra, “Infiltrate” by Sean Paul, and the mega hit, “Who Am I” a.k.a. “Sim Simma“ by Beenie Man! The Riddim was also sampled by UK Artists Krept & Konan, US Rapper Bizzy Bone, and UK DJ/Producer Spooky Bizzle.

Produced by Jonah Christian and Felix Joseph, the Artists get into some relationship talk over a very familiar sample. Taking its place as an instantly recognizable sound is Jamaican Producer Jeremy Harding’s 1997 “Playground Riddim“! Released through the 2 Hard label, the Riddim featured Sean Paul’s “Infiltrate“, Cobra’s “Pet and Pamper“, Mr. Vegas’ “Nike Air“, and Beenie Man’s “Who Am I” a.k.a. “Sim Simma“!
