Tommy Lee Sparta & @TrippieRedd Bring The Horror In “Murderer”

When you think about it, Tommy Lee Sparta and US Rapper Trippie Redd need to make a project together. With a couple collaborations out, they show that they can make music that brings their fanbases together. With this month being “Spooky Season“, they drop the video for their new collab called, “Murderer“.

Directed by DJuvii for Now Or Never, Tommy Lee Sparta and Trippie Redd bring the badness in the video for, “Murderer”. The dark visual is filled with guns and Women, and this is a different kind of Island trip for Trippie Redd. “Murderer” was previewed recently, and fans of the Artists could not wait for the collab to finally drop. Tommy Lee is definitely no stranger to working with Rappers, and he further seals his International connections. We really need them to drop a project together (and we say that while still waiting on the Sparta Boss to release an all-Rock project). Big 1400 and the Spartan King meet again.

Earlier this year, US Recording Artist/Actress Janelle Monaé announced that she will be releasing her latest album, “The Age Of Pleasure“. Along with that came the single “Lipstick Lover“. While the racy visual showed another side of her, it contained the familiar sound of Dancehall Artist Mad Cobra’s 1992 hit, “Flex“. With the new album just released, a few more familiar sounds joined in.

On Janelle Monaé’s “The Age Of Pleasure” album, Jamaican Recording Artists Derrick Harriott, Barrington Levy, Sister Nancy, and Queen Patra all join Mad Cobra on a few tracks. On the 2nd track “Champagne S***“, Levy’s 1984 hit “Murderer” was sampled. The classic track also appears on the follow up track, “Black Sugar Beach“. “Murderer” was produced by Hyman Wright and Pat Chin, and released through the Grade One label. Sister Nancy’s 1982 hit “Bam Bam” was sampled on the track “Water Slide“. Patra’s “Whining Skill” from her 1993 debut album “Queen Of The Pack” was also sampled on the track. “Bam Bam” secures the title of the most sampled Jamaican song, and we have a Playlist and a few words about it here. Sister Nancy is also a featured Artist, appearing on the track, “French 75“. “Whining” was produced by Tony “CD” Kelly and Clifton “Specialist” Dillon. The legendary Grace Jones also appears on the album as a featured Artist, delivering on “Oooh La La“. Coming to the closing of the album, Derrick Harriott’s 1967 classic, “The Loser” was sampled on the track, “Only Have Eyes 42“. The track was released through Crystal Records, and produced by Harriott. Many have speculated that Monaé would have Jamaican influences on her new album, and what was brought forward did not disappoint.

We’ve featured Recording Artist Kaylan Arnold before as she was a part of the Kris Karz & Kngly Studios produced “Kngly Live“, but since then she has been thrilling folks with her covers and a couple features. Today we get her first single as the First Lady of DadaSon Entertainment titled, “The Crown“! Produced by Jason “JVibe” Farmer and featuring a few samples including Barrington Levy’s “Murderer” and vocals from Gramps Morgan, Kaylan gives us the melodies that many of us have been accustomed to. Crime and violence continue to run rampant in not only Jamaica, but all over the world. While there have been various measures in attempts to cut down on them, many turn to their beliefs in hopes that they or anyone close to them never become a statistic. Recently, Recording Artist Wayne J called out those who took pride in taking someone’s life in “Murderer“. Produced by Barcelona, Spain based King Horror Productions on the 67 Riddim, Wayne speaks on Crime and Violence activities in various communities, and warns the Murderers that what goes around, comes around if they don’t change their ways. @MrLevy411 Stole The Show At @ReggaeSumfest 2016!

Platinum Camp Records CEO Daddy Biggs and the team behind Reggae Sumfest 2016 presented for the first time ever, Barrington Levy and Beenie Man together on stage in Montego Bay, Jamaica. Together they performed their mega hit single “Murderer” which sent the crowd in a frenzy during the historic performance. It became a diplomatic affair as Biggs arranged for Rapper Shyne to fly to Jamaica from Belize to join Levy a.k.a. “Mellow Canary” for a surprise performance of their hit records “Bad Boys” and “Bonnie and Shyne”. The crowd erupted as the Hip Hop and Reggae Artists joined forces. It was a night of sheer pandemonium to see the two “bad boys” walk on stage for a final showdown.

In another interesting move, Daddy Biggs has arranged a Latin American and a European tour for Levy in the final quarter of 2016 which commences in Chile in October. Barrington Levy is also promoting his latest single “G.S.O.A.T”, which means “Greatest Survivor of All Time”. The song is an excellently crafted masterpiece that is set to be released on August 6th to commemorate the great survivors of Jamaica and its Independence.
