Power Book II: Ghost has been doing well since its debut earlier this year. With members from the original Power series making moves along with new characters, the action and drama have not pushed viewers away. Along with the storyline comes some great music. Earlier this year we highlighted that Lady Saw’s “Strip Tease” was featured in the debut episode, and today, New York based artist Alex Mali makes an appearance through song in the 8th episode with her MeLo-X featured track, “Hoity Toity“.

Produced by Ninease and released in 2017, is a feel good track that captured some Island vibes, was a great fit for the summertime, and was made for the bad gyal dem! We had the pleasure of featuring its official music video that you can see here. The track was featured during a scene between Tariq and Effie (played by Michael Rainy Jr. and Alix Lapri respectively) as they handled some business (and pleasure) together. Today, Recording Artist King Moses delivers a positive message with his new video, “Hold My Own“. Directed by Jon Cintron and shot in New York, Moses shares his life experiences where he had to be self sufficient. He also gives thanks to the Almighty for bringing him this far, and encourages more people to fend for self over the “Style Riddim” produced by WaveKing. We believe this one will motivate listeners as the days can be a struggle. While many have had bad experiences aligning themselves with others, sometimes it’s best to just go solo and avoid further conflict. What do you think of this? With a blend of Pop, EDM, and Bhangra influences, Vindon brings his Hip Hop and Dancehall styles for a rather enjoyable track. Bless up Jamaica and New York City. Today we’re witnessing a historic moment thanks to Chris Matic, a Jamaican born Rapper who resides in Brooklyn, New York! Having been on the grind for some time, his day finally arrived once he signed with IB Music, a division of Invisible Bully which was started by Damion “D-Roc” Butler and Diddy. Since his signing, Chris Matic has been showing up at various outlets dropping bar after bar, and impressing many. Today is no different however as he checks in with the legendary DJ Funk Flex at Hot 97, and he delivered! Over Drake’s “Duppy Freestyle” and Mobb Deep’s “Quiet Storm” Instrumentals, he lets us know he’s not in the 360 deal life, rolling with D-Roc and Diddy, and showcasing why he’s one of the nicest out there. Today, Rapper/DJ Stichie Don and legendary Rapper Rampage who share Caribbean backgrounds, speak on where they’re from on “Unsolved Mysteries“. Produced by DubLab Productions, the duo share their experiences over some hard hitting beat that’ll have you thinking you’re on the corner in the 90’s. From hustling days to seeing crime and corruption, they share stories that many others have seen in the places they call home. Today we present to you the sounds of the Artist named Sekani. Based in New York, he took his Jamaican sound and influences to what many know as the birthplace of Hip Hop, and created his own fire. With that in mind, he recently released his latest project, “Fragmented“. Featuring 13 tracks, he shares his stories about his experiences and journey from Jamaica to the US, and drops some consciousness throughout. He aims to grab more ears thanks to his unique blend of Hip Hop, Dancehall, and Jazz sounds with assistance from Warren Xclnce, DA, 4Real, Canis Major, and more. Joining him on his musical journey are the likes of Roe Summerz, Royal Blu, and Kapital Stone. For those who need to give the trendy things a break, “Fragmented” is a project to pick up and put in rotation. A wonderful listening experience here.
