Recording Artist Jah Lil has made it to a new level in his career. Having blessed the world with music that connects in unique ways and shares strong messages, he looks to do even more with his gift. The new level has allowed him to give us his debut album, “Can A Man Cry“.

Featuring 10 tracks and released through Out Deh Records/Give Thanks Music, Jah Lil taps into our motives, our thoughts, our ambitions, our pain, and our visions with “Can A Man Cry”. The album finds him sharing his various experiences in life, and accompanies them with messages that aim to guide the listener with a delivery that makes him one of the stand out acts in recent years. He doesn’t slack off with the production, and he tapped into the likes of Teflon ZincFence, Ali P, Cloud Beats, Ziah Push, Sinky Beats, Thomas Broussard, and Matthieu Bost who ensure that their sounds elevate the album in the best way. It’s been a long time coming for Jah Lil, and “Can A Man Cry” promises to be one of the year’s best, and an important release for the decade.

Life has it challenges, how we handle them determines a positive or negative outcome. Overall, we just want better, and we’re in one piece through it all. Reggae Artist Jah Lil has his share of ups and downs, but he is determined to make good things happen. He is a fighter, and he looks to encourage us with the new single, “Above Water“.

Produced by Ziah Push through Habitat Studios and released through Out Deh Records/Give Thanks Music, Jah Lil provides some positive words on “Above Water”. Many of us are fighting battles, and the song comes as a cloak of strength for the trying times. Accompanying the new single, is a Music Video directed by Fernando Hevia, and it finds Jah Lil not only connecting with the water, but adding to the message that we’re just trying to stay above the craziness. Jah Lil has been on the scene for some time, but expect him to be everywhere this year. Keep your head up.

Chip Off The Old Block: Meet The New Kids Of Dancehall x Reggae (Pt. 2)

First they started out as the youth of the Dancehall/Reggae culture, now they’re parents with growing kids. It isn’t unusual for the child of an Entertainer to follow in their parent’s footsteps one way or the other as at times they bring a modern take on their parent’s creations, or create their own lane. Some of the most famous off springs include Stephen, Ziggy, and Damian “Junior Gong” Marley (Sons of Bob Marley), Chino and Di Genius (Sons of Freddie McGregor), Junior Tucker (Son of Jimmy Tucker), Morgan Heritage (Children of Denroy Morgan), Tarrus Riley (Son of Jimmy Riley), Queen Ifrica (Daughter of Derrick Morgan), Protoje (Son of Lorna Bennett), Chronixx (Son of Chronicle) and many more. In part 2 of a few part series, I feature more of the new set of kids on the scene whose parents have covered much ground in their respective careers.
