It’s Christmas Eve, and we bring to you our final entry in the Christmas Edition of “Oldies Sunday“! Today we call up “Di original Gold teet, front teet, gun pon teet, Don Gorgon“, Ninja Man! With Christmas in the air, we present to you his 1988 single, “Christmas Breeze“! Produced by L. Hellyter for the UK based Sling 1 Label, Ninja brings the Holiday vibes as the “Gold toothed Santa” to the session as he speaks on feeling the “Christmas breeze“, wanting to feel happy around this time of the year, encouraging unity, enjoying Christmas in any way you can, and his Christmas experiences in Kingston and London.

This post also pays a small tribute to the Don Gorgon as he was given a life sentence this past week. We will miss his commentary, his persona, and his presence in the Dancehall world. We wished that “Get Out of Jail Free” card worked.

Chip Off The Old Block: Meet The New Kids Of Dancehall x Reggae (Pt. 2)

First they started out as the youth of the Dancehall/Reggae culture, now they’re parents with growing kids. It isn’t unusual for the child of an Entertainer to follow in their parent’s footsteps one way or the other as at times they bring a modern take on their parent’s creations, or create their own lane. Some of the most famous off springs include Stephen, Ziggy, and Damian “Junior Gong” Marley (Sons of Bob Marley), Chino and Di Genius (Sons of Freddie McGregor), Junior Tucker (Son of Jimmy Tucker), Morgan Heritage (Children of Denroy Morgan), Tarrus Riley (Son of Jimmy Riley), Queen Ifrica (Daughter of Derrick Morgan), Protoje (Son of Lorna Bennett), Chronixx (Son of Chronicle) and many more. In part 2 of a few part series, I feature more of the new set of kids on the scene whose parents have covered much ground in their respective careers.

Tonight, two Dancehall giants in Gully Bop and Ninja Man have graced the Onstage set. Will there be a much needed clash from these two, or a collaboration? Here Gully Bop spoke on his career 1 year after his discovery and rise to stardom, ignoring doubters, still being a hot commodity in the Dancehall circles, “Killing dem wid style“, thoughts on Sting 2015 and more. Ninja Man however spoke on his recent hospitalization, his thoughts on Sting 2015, working on a new project with veteran Artists, spreading his wings as an Entrepreneur, and Gully Bop.
