Freestyling over Drake’s “Energy” where producers Mercutio and Dennis added their spin on it, Slim drops witty lines about enemies, fake friends trying to take away his energy, getting girls even with owning a Blackberry, and running the game even when he’s not at the forefront. Slim I.D. may have taken a stab at the “IYRTITL” track, but which beat is next? He aims to broaden his reach this year with his clever rhymes and working with great producers. With his name being spread to a larger audience and a debut album on the way, Popcaan has come a long way from being a former member of Vybz Kartel’s Portmore Empire. Tonight he had a chat with Winford Williams about the things that are going on in his life. Here he spoke about his former boss’ guilty verdict and sentencing, gaining popularity overseas and his experiences, staying away from conflicts and being a big part of his family, his debut album “Where We Come From“, and his upcoming performance in Jamaica. Winford Williams also gave Popcaan some words of encouragement in the end and I also liked how he spoke about his little brother’s progress.
