Live From His Hometown, @TheRoyalBlu Debuts His “Spain Root”

Royal Blu may seem like a simple Man with his calm demeanor, but underneath is an Artist who possesses powerful lyrics, and knows how to light that fire when he enters the booth. Formerly known as Blu Kid, the Spanish Town native has been perfecting his craft, and has built a movement that continues to witness his rise. He has performed with some of the best, and now he makes a big step in his career. He releases his debut album, “Spain Root“.

Featuring 14 tracks and released through Easy Star Records, “Spain Root” is Royal Blu’s dedication to his hometown. The project is some of Blu’s best work yet, and he covers a lot of ground here. Showcasing a display of great songwriting, a solid command of whatever production is thrown his way, and holding his own when collaborating with others. Production of “Spain Root” is handled by DelaGroove, J.L.L., RiddimBoss, ProdByRoss, The Autos, G.Wav, Paris Lamont, Mundo, Yo Christon, KaleX, and Cuco Fyah, while he shares the booth with Protoje, Runkus, D’Yani, Akina Eman, and Kabaka Pyramid. This album is for Jamaica, for the world, and Spanish Town of course.

It’s A Full Circle Moment For @TheRoyalBlu & @Protoje With “Life From Kingston” Release

The 2010s saw the rise of Reggae Artist Protoje, and he helped to usher in what some would call the “Reggae Revival“. His music not only connected with the people, but inspired others to want to be a part of the new music revolution. One of those aspiring Artists was Royal Blu. The Spanish Town native entered the scene with his own style, and built a following. He became a part of a new class, and he continues to keep his fire burning. This year, he looks to release his debut album, “Spain Root“. Recently, he fueled the rollout with the release of, “Life From Kingston“.

Produced by RiddimBoss and featuring Protoje, it’s a full circle moment for Royal Blu with the release of, “Life From Kingston”. Blu was one of a number of young Artists Protoje had under his wing, giving him guidance, and showcasing his talent to a new audience in the early years. One of those times was at the event called, “Live From Kingston” in the 2010s. There were times where they should’ve collaborated, but now is the right time for just that. The song speaks on the Artists’ history together, recognizing their respective journeys, and giving thanks as their have made their own impact on the world. The two would join forces in a Shane Creative-directed Music Video, and viewers familiar with both can finally witness them in their element on the new collaboration. Royal Blu’s “Spain Root” album is expected to drop on June 27, while we’re on the lookout for Protoje announcing a new album sometime this year.

Producer/Recording Artist Iotosh has been putting in the work. From his early years producing for a number of upcoming Recording Artists, he has always ensured that he stood out with his sound. Catching the attention of big names like Protoje, things started to elevate for his career, and he became a go to Producer over time. When he started putting his vocals and lyrics to his beats, things got very interesting, and soon he was holding his own with some of his peers. His dedication to the music has paid off in a number of ways for him, and he has not reached his final form. However, he celebrates the milestone of a debut project in the form of an EP called, “For The People“.

Featuring 8 tracks, Iotosh stands tall as a future legend with his “For The People” EP. Packed with conscious themes, songs reflecting on real life situations, and a showcase of skilled songwriting, Iotosh shows growth with his debut. The EP is the result of a great deal of development behind the scenes paired with having success over time, and this is the beginning of even more greatness from him. Released through his Sound Ting imprint, the EP boasts a variety of different sounds, strengthening Tosh’s production prowess. The stage is completely his, but he shares the EP with guest appearances from Protoje and Kyraxx. This project is for the world, and it’s straight from a good place for you to enjoy.

This Friday’s looking like it’s a day for lovers, as there have been a number of selections that promote couples enjoying some quality time. Recording Artist Lila Ike is next up with some new music, and you’re gonna be in for a treat. Earlier, she premiered the visual for the new single, “Fry Plantain“.

Directed by DJuvii, Lila Ike links up with Rapper/Actor Joey BadA$$ on “Fry Plantain”. The visual promotes that bond couples have, and throughout we see the onscreen lovers connect in a number of ways from breakfast at the Cottage, to hitting the road, to calling it an evening and night at the River and beach respectively. Produced by Protoje and D.K. the Punisher, “Fry Plantain” is a single that finds the Artists flirting throughout, painting the pictures of creating love bonds, capturing moments together, spending quality time together, and making the right moves for their future. BadA$$ previously made an appearance in Lila and Recording Artist H.E.R.’s video for their “He Loves Us Both” collab as their love interest, and we jokingly say Lila won him over here. Another big collaboration, and another love song to add to your collection.

The word is out, Recording Artist Protoje is gearing up to release a Short Film! The new venture will add to his ever-growing creativity, and give the world a new way to experience Jamaica. While he hasn’t shared much details as yet including the release date, he’s giving us new music that will give us an idea of what to expect. “King Digg” steps in with a project called, “The Jamaican Situation“.

Featuring 5 tracks, Protoje provides a soundtrack that many will tune into called, “The Jamaican Situation”. Released through In.Digg.Nation Collective/Ineffable Records, this is just “Side A“, and it highlights some of the many issues that Jamaica has been facing from poverty, to love, to corruption, with gleams of overcoming the odds. Production include Iotosh, Zion I Kings, IzyBeats, Ziah.Push, Will Tee, and Protoje himself. While the project is mostly Protoje on vocals, Jahshii joins him on one track. Now that Protoje is releasing short length projects, maybe we finally get “Royalty Free: Side B“. Maybe. Get ready for the Short Film come 2025!
