Take A Trip Into @DiEnergist’s Mind On “Psycho”!

It’s been a while since we’ve seen and heard Kyng Tavii. While he has since done away with Comedy and dabbled a little in music, he was M.I.A. for a bit. Having been one of the early adopters of the Social Media Comedy lane in Jamaica, a week wouldn’t pass where he didn’t have a crazy skit posted online (like this one). Today, he gets on his music ting with the visual for, “Psycho (stream here)“! Handling the directorial duties with creative direction by Noel Smith, viewers are taken inside Kyng Tavii’s mind as he lets us know some of the things that pop up in there, and what he has been going through. While everyone was going crazy over Shenseea’s Instagram post last week, she has been staying busy with new music and being the best (best, best, best, best…). For those who had headaches over it (or shedding tears lol), the post was a screenshot from her upcoming video with US Rapper Tyga, “Blessed“! With production from Rvssian and the video shot by Arrad in Montego Bay, we’re in for another Shen Yeng summer as this sounds like a track that will be heard everywhere! With word that Shenseea has inked a deal with a Interscope Records/Rich Immigrants, she will be crossing over in a big way. This isn’t Tyga’s first time getting into some Dancehall as he made an attempt on the single, “1 of 1“. This may be the one to do numbers since his return with “Taste” and “Dip“, and redeem his Jamaican side a lil.

Tommy Lee Sparta has been pretty busy in recent months. With numerous singles and albums everywhere, he aimed to keep his name hot despite whatever else is going on. Today’s no different as he released the much anticipated track, “Killers“! Produced by Thugz Bunny Music and features New Jersey Battle Rapper Arsonal, the track further shows Tommy Lee’s Rapper side (remember this collab?), and he handles his own along with Arsonal as they get into some Gangsta ish over a trap beat.

OLDIES SUNDAY: Lil Vicious – Nika (1994)

In recognition of May being “Child’s Month“, Oldies Sunday will be highlighting a few child stars who made some noise in music. Today’s first selection comes from Brooklyn born Rapper/Dancehall Artist Lil Vicious with his 1994 hit, “Nika“! Produced by DJ Clark Kent and released through Epic Street/Sony Records, we find Vicious giving us bars about his new love interest, Nika, and rocking the crowd throughout the song. With lyrics about Marriage, dating, and even having kids, teenage Vicious was ahead of his time with his grown up bars then. He doesn’t understand why his parents love her though. “Nika” was featured on the Rapper’s debut album, “Destination Brooklyn“.

“Nika” was a hit for the Artist as it peaked at #9 on the Billboard Hot Rap singles chart, and #69 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song also featured samples of US Music group The Isley Brothers’ “Between The Sheets“, Rapper Big Daddy Kane’s “Somethin’ Funky“, and an interpolation of Dancehall Artist Beenie Man’s “World Dance“. Since the release of “Nika”, Vicious kept rapping despite not gaining another hit, and even got mentioned on the late Notorious B.I.G.’s “You’re Nobody (‘Till Somebody Kills You)“.
