After being at odds with Reggae artist I Octane over who should close down Reggae Sumfest, Mr. Vegas stepped on the Onstage set to speak his mind with Winford Williams. Here he spoke about not having a “war” with I Octane, his thoughts on artists closing down Sumfest and the media not giving other artists who’ve done so before any major attention, thoughts on Reggae artist Chronixx, introducing his artist Latty J, Vybz Kartel’s incarceration, Bounty Killa, and his upcoming Sumfest performance. I liked that Onstage got both sides to this “beef”, I know both will do their best at the event. Check out the video below and share your thoughts in the comments section.

After closing “Dancehall Night” of Reggae Sumfest 2013, Reggae artist I Octane was requested to do the same task at the 2014 event. With news of this members of the music fraternity were not pleased and expressed how they felt about it. One of his detractors include Mr. Vegas. Tonight on Onstage I Octane had a quick chat with Winford Williams. Here he spoke about keeping current, his issue with Mr. Vegas, his thoughts on closing Reggae Sumfest, encouraging the older acts to give the youth a chance in the music business, what to expect with his Sumfest performance, his recent gigs overseas and the success from them, and wanting to inspire many. A good interview here, I Octane really handled himself well with last year’s Reggae Sumfest and despite Vegas’ remarks, he will do a good job at this year’s staging. Being a member of the fast rising artists which include Protoje, Chronixx and Jah 9, Jesse Royal has been making a name for himself with his blend of music. Now added to the upcoming Reggae Sumfest, he had a quick chat with Winford Williams to speak on that and more. Here he spoke about his start and describing it as “From creeping to walking“, getting great support for his music, being groomed in the Church, being a part of the “Reggae Revolution” and contributing to bring more consciousness to the genre, being a devout Rastafarian, Reggae Sumfest and future projects which include his “Royally Speaking” mixtape with Major Lazer’s Walshy Fire. Great interview here, I like how articulate he is and has handled his interview well. Looking forward to his upcoming project. With news of her signing to Island Kings Records, Tifa has been toiling hard over the years to become a success in the Dancehall scene. Sitting on the set for the first time, she had a chat with Winford Williams about that and more. Here she spoke on the details of her new record deal, furthering her global popularity, her single “Body Up” being featured in the Netflix series “Hemlock Grove“, working on a music video for “Back It Up” and the success of that single, getting her start in her music career, the challenges she’s faced before and during her career, proving many people wrong with her talent, avoiding conflicts in the Music Fraternity and encouraging unity among female artists, releasing her first big budget music video and hosting an event for it, Reggae Sumfest 2014, future projects and endorsements. Loved this Interview here, looking forward to the new developments in her career. There’s no slowing down of her progress. Check out the video below and share your thoughts in the comments section.
Given that today is “Throwback Thursday” for some, why not bring my readers back in time with one of Vybz Kartel’s last performances before being apprehended by the law. Performing at Reggae Sumfest 2011, Vybz, along with Sheba, Popcaan, Gaza Slim, Tommy Lee Sparta, and Shawn Storm, performed a slew of hits and brought a lot of energy to the event. For many, this would’ve been the last time they’ve seen Vybz Kartel perform live. Check out the video below and share your thoughts in the comments section.
