Shav-A Pays Tribute To The Heroes On “Redemption Song”

The world is filled with heroes. While some are widely celebrated, and some have remained anonymous, they’ve all risked their lives in efforts to save many, or make a significant change in society. Paying tribute to her personal heroes, Recording Artist Shav-A delivers her rendition of “Redemption Song“. Borrowing the late Bob Marley’s 1980 classic, Shav-A sought the assistance of Musician Ed George on the Piano over the original’s Guitar performance, and gives us her 2019 version. While the original was inspired by elements of National Hero Marcus Garvey’s 1937 “The Work That Has Been Done” speech, Shav-A’s version pays tribute to Marcus Garvey, and fellow National Heroes Paul Bogle and Nanny of the Maroons.

Shav-A, who is the daughter of Reggae Artist Admiral Tibet, started her 2019 strong with the remix of her 2018 single “I Need Your Love” which featured French Recording Artist Orti. She is currently gearing up for a string of live performances to take place in the coming weeks, and will be making updates via her Instagram page at @ShavAMusic. She is currently promoting the singles, “Father” and “Island Girl“.

While many of us utilized Desks and tabletops to provide the instrumentations for our Dancehall clashes and freestyle Rap sessions at School or on the corner, there are those who possessed the ability to make music with their mouths. Dervin Lee a.k.a. “Mixing Lab” is one of those with that unique ability. Having impressed many near and far with the skill of recreating some of your favourite beats, and creating new ones on the spot through Beatboxing, Mixing Lab decides to take it further with the release of his debut album, “Mini-Stereo“!

Done in collaboration with RoRo Jammings Productions, they dabble in Dancehall, Afrobeat, Reggae, Calypso, Hip Hop, Dubstep, and many other genres on a project that will have your attention from the Artist filled Intro, to the Dubstep/Calypso/Dancehall hybrid on track 10! The album even has something for the Gaming community thanks to a track titled, “Kayo“. Known as “The Beatbox Machine“, Mixing Lab has worked with Alozade, Beenie Man, Bounty Killa, and has showcased his talents at various events over the years. The “Mini-Stereo” album is considered the first of its kind in the Caribbean, and Mixing Lab joins the list of Artists who have studied the art of Beatboxing like Biz Markie, Doug E. Fresh, and Rahzel.

Rise up, and listen to some good music! You’ll love today’s entry as it comes from Recording Artist Blvk H3ro! A few months ago he released his debut album, “The Immortal Steppa” which has been receiving praise and numerous spins worldwide. Today he keeps the momentum going with the visual for one of our favourites off the album, “Superstition“! Directed by Alexandre Hostein (who also produced the track and designed the single’s artwork) and shot in St. Andrew, Jamaica, viewers are treated to a retro styled visual filled with old school fashion (styled by Osunya Rose), video clips, herb, and a vibe that’s unmatched! If you’re not rocking while watching this, go see a Doctor. Blvk H3ro continues to show off his unique style, and that’s why he can be found in campaigns rocking gear from Levi’s and Carhartt.

Be on the look out for Blvk H3ro this summer as he’ll be making appearances at various events performing tracks from his album, and of course some of your faves. Shav-A Plays The Minister Of Tourism Role On “Island Girl”!

The world is filled with beautiful women, but there’s nothing like an Island Girl! Recording Artist Shav-A takes on the Minister of Tourism’s role with her latest single, “Island Girl”!

The single was produced by G Shav Music and E7E Music, and on the track Shav-A lets the world know that the Caribbean is where its at when it comes to beautiful women. While many have visited the Caribbean in search of love, there’s no turning back once an island girl is in the picture. With an infectious production that blends Dancehall and Afrobeats, this is the song to play at a high volume at all the Beach parties this summer. A video has been made for the single which was directed by Veinless Visuals, and features Sly Dunbar, Handel Tucker, and Speckle. It will be released in August on local TV programs, and on her official Youtube Channel.

When asked about the creation of “Island Girl”, Shav-A shared, “I wanted to do a song that highlighted Caribbean women and our beauty. We are the center of attention, we’re showstoppers, and people go crazy for us. As they say, “Caribbean girls run it, ask Riri and Nicki”. Making this song was fun as the guys just knew the right sound to go with my lyrics. I look forward to everyone loving this song just as much as we enjoyed creating it.“

Shav-A has been staying busy this year as she has been hitting the road showcasing her talents, and releasing singles including “Father”, which was been receiving favourable airplay. Along with “Island Girl”, Shav-A plans to release more singles, and perform at some of your favorite venues in the coming months. “Island Girl” will be available on all major musical platforms to include Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, and Tidal.
